Who pays for shipping if an item was already refunded for lateness but shipment later arrives?

·2 years agoWait, why would the buyer be on the hook to pay shipping? They are not obligated to return it AT ALL. The right thing to do would be to return it, but on the seller's dime.

·2 years agoIf you've already been refunded on an item not received case and you received the item after you were refunded, you are not obligated to return the item, especially if your case has closed.
But, if you really want to return the item you would be paying the return shipping since your INR case has already closed.

·2 years agoActually, if your seller has requested the item be returned after it arrived late enough for your INR case to be closed, tell them they can have it back if they pay return shipping. You should not be out to return this item. Additionally, ebay will never ask you to pay to return an item after your case is closed; at that point they have washed their hands of it. This is likely the seller requesting the return.

You would be responsible to pay the return shipping cost, or repay the seller for the item if you decide to keep it, in that situation. The only time a seller pays the return shipping is when an item is returned for being not as described.
If you have an item that has not yet arrived and is past its last estimated delivery date, Have you tried contacting your seller yet? If an item that has tracking shows that it has been received by a shipping company, and you file an Item Not Received (INR) dispute. eBay is going to extend the time before you can ask them to step in to issue a refund. They will do that to give the seller time to contact the shipper and/or for to get moving in the shipper's system.
