Who is Responsible for Counterfeit items sold on Ebay ???
I Purchased 6 engine Sparkplugs in looks like Original Genuine OEM package for my Toyota 2grfe engine which after installation caused Great Engine Damage. The item was looks like Genuine but was Counterfeit copy.
The Seller (based in China ) refunded me but I stuck with broken engine which cost 6,500 to fix...
What can do to get help from eBay ??

·11 months agoLet me get this straight; you sell auto parts on this site, your other post states that you report counterfeit auto parts listings on this site, and yet you buy parts from the same country where you're busy reporting that counterfeit parts come from? And now your engine is damaged. Make it make sense.

When did you find out the seller was based in China? If it was after the plugs you received damaged your engine, then it was too late. As a seller of auto parts yourself you should know that chinese made parts are often made of substandard materials, do not have the proper tolerances and often do not fit. The price of those parts is usually lower than OEM and authorized aftermarket, OEM Mfr's. items.
Maybe you did not know this but, even if Toyota or any other company has their plugs or other items manufactured in china, chinese sellers are not allowed to sell them outside of their country.
That's why you have to check the feedback profile of every seller you intend to buy from, Before making a purchase. Many China based sellers are registered in the U.S. or give U.S. locations for their listings so checking profiles is a must. Often those sellers have feedback saying items came from China, or were knockoffs, counterfeit items, or were never received.
As for getting help from eBay, they already fulfilled their obligation by making sure you got a refund. There is no way they can validate that all of the millions of items sold on the site are what they claim to be. Especially, if the seller uses photos and descriptions taken from a Mfr's. site.

·11 months agoNothing you can do other than file for a item not as described refund. But sounds like you received a refund already from the buyer.

·11 months agoYou got a refund for the spark plugs, that is all eBay can do for you.

Best you can do is stop buying those cheap auto parts from China.
