Where to report this situation?
Hello,
I want to request an urgent intervention for an order on ebay.
I confirmed item availability with the seller prior to payment. Since the payment cleared, the seller has stopped all communication. I have noticed that the seller has increased the price of this item on their store, and I believe they are intentionally withholding my shipment in bad faith, attempting to force a cancellation to re-list at a higher price.
I am not seeking a refund; I require the item for a critical business project. I need eBay to escalate this issue and contact the seller to mandate that they fulfill our binding purchase agreement. I have documentation of our pre-payment correspondence and am ready to provide it if necessary.

OP4 months agoA contact is a contact. The seller has two major problems:
1. Lying about the availability (before payment).
2. Stopping replying to messages after payments and that is a classic behavior of a scam.
I expect eBay to contact the seller after reporting this. They should work as an intermediate negotiator to help complete the deal. eBay can also apply a fine or ban the Seller's account to protect buyers from this kind of unprofessional behavior. Canceling orders after paying has a very negative impact on the buyer starting from losing the tranfer fees, legal issues with the bank for making an incomplete importing transaction, and to losing the item which affects the current business project.

Was the seller aware that you reside in Egypt when you discussed ‘availability’ of the item? Where is the seller and item located?
This is the eBay US website … and only US and Canadian members can contact a CS agent from this site to request a callback.
I‘m not sure which website to advise you to use. If you go to eBay’s Homepage … you will see a list of eBay sites around the world. You should be able to find one located nearer to you than this one.
You could try contacting eBay CS on Instagram … BUT the best advice is to follow the directions in eBay’s Money Back Guarantee to file a claim when the time is right. Good luck! 🙂

OP4 months agoYes, the seller was aware of my country and city. We also agreed about the shipping method and everything. That's why I paid.
Egypt law is very strict about importing/Export. If you pay for something and you don't import it, the bank will report this to the government considering it a "business failure". This is considered wasting of USD and this is a big deal because of lack of foreign currency in Egypt.
I wish eBay can read this article and help.

EBay won't read this. EBay won't help beyond giving you the means to get a refund. EBay has no way to force the seller to ship. Your only option is to use eBay's Money Back Guarantee to get a refund. Writing angry posts in big red letters won't change that.

There's nothing they will do until a day after the last estimated delivery date.
If you don't have it by then, open an item not received case for a refund.

·4 months agoYou are clearly an annoying buyer, whether you wish to be or not.
You are assuming the worst, as the seller is probably assuming about you.
Until the estimated delivery date range has been exceeded there is nothing you or Ebay can do.
When it is exceeded your may file an INR claim under the Ebay MBG.

·4 months agoThis is a community forum of buyers and sellers.
If you want to contact ebay, you can do so by requesting a call back from them using the chat bot.
They can get you a refund. But they cannot force a seller to ship an item. Let me put it this way, what if you bought an expensive collectible glass plate from me, and I accidentally broke it? Do you expect ebay to force me to ship you glass shards?
You have rights as a buyer, but forcing a seller to ship something is not on the menu.

·4 months agoThere is nothing that eBay can do to force the seller to ship. It just isn’t feasible – I can’t physically force anyone to do anything. I feel for you – you might have a seller that just doesn’t wanna ship. Or, maybe he already has, or maybe he is getting ready to. A lot of sellers just don’t want to communicate with buyers post sale.
If I need something in a hurry, no way I would order it on eBay. Not only is there too much variability in delivery performance of carriers, but you do get some sellers that just sit on items. Or don’t send ever. We have a lot of great sellers on eBay, but a lot of duds. The good far outweigh the bad, so I hope you don’t take this as a reflection on. what a typical seller on eBay would do.

·4 months agoALL eBay buyers, as well as ALL eBay sellers, owe it to themselves to get acquainted with the Money Back Guarantee for buyers, preferably before beginning to buy or sell here. It offers very good protection for buyers if/when a transaction goes wrong.
In the listing where you made your purchase you saw an ESTIMATED DELIVERY DATE. Evidently, this date was OK with you or else you'd not have made this purchase, right?
Per the MBG, once that date has passed by at least ONE DAY, and you've not received your item, if there's no tracking showing the item is moving, you can open an item not received case with eBay.
Once you've opened that case, you wait three days for the package or for a response from your seller.
Neither one happening? You return to the case and ask eBay to step in so you can be refunded.
Also, it's not always a good idea to shop on eBay when you need something by a certain date.
So now, please follow the above directions. Also please take the time to learn about the MBG.
