    where to report dropshipper?

Summary: centralnj1 expressed frustration over a previous post being archived and sought advice on reporting a dropshipper. ryry-jj suggested reporting a seller through the user profile, while stainlessenginecovers argued that not all dropshipping is problematic. centralnj1 insisted on reporting a seller to Amazon for alleged policy violations, explaining dissatisfaction with purchasing through Amazon unknowingly. Participants discussed how to identify potential dropshippers through various clues. mudshark61369 provided details about identifying shipments originating from Amazon's services, and another participant clarified why the previous post was removed.

My last post was mysteriously "archived".

    Why not say Deleted?

    NO accountability.

So, where do I report a dropshipper?

Your post was removed because this isn't a place to "report" someone, this is a message forum. You sure have found a place to "report" people in your feedback though!

    @centralnj1 ,

While it it not against ebay's policies to drop ship on ebay, it is against the rules to list an item, receive payment then buy it from another site to send it to a buyer, known as Arbitrage. If there was a packing slip in with the item, there is info on it that can tell you if it was sent by a seller using Fulfilled By Amazon (FBA) or Multi Channel Fulfillment (MCF) both of which are allowed by Amazon and eBay. An FBA item will come in a smile box, while a MCF item will be in a plain box and delivered by a 3rd party.

The receipt or packing slip may have a Tracked By Amazon (TBA) number. It starts with TBA followed by 10 numbers, it can tell you where the shipment originated use the following link to see the tracking info https://www.google.com/url?sa=i&source=web&rct=j&url=https://track.amazon.com/&ved=2ahUKEwjht-j-8eCVAxXo38kDHWqHOjcQy_kOeggIAAgBCBoQAg&opi=89978449&cd&psig=AOvVaw2f_k8ND1dkf-3xohknQ5rG&ust=1784624371087000 .

If you get info that proves the item was purchased after you bought it use the link below to report the seller to ebay, you will need a scan or clear photo of the receipt and/or packing slip.

It may not be possible to always identify in advance those sellers who drop-ship, but it is possible to identify some common characteristics of illicit retail drop-shippers or other under-performing sellers, and thus avoid the worst of them.

Often they can be spotted by a combination of low feedback number, free shipping of heavy items where it would not be profitable to use retail shipping, use of stock photos, high handling time (not necessarily if they are using Amazon or Walmart, though), poor feedback received with complaints of delays and wrong items or out of stock cancellations, very odd item selection and/or quantities like items were chosen at random from a catalog, canned item descriptions scraped from another site that exactly match many other similar listings, differences between registration location on the feedback page and item location (or vague item location -- like "US, United States"), or inability to answer even basic questions about the items being sold.

You can report a seller here. But not all dropshipping is a violation of eBay policy.

    Thank you.

I know about the eBay plicy and the exceptions.

I also plan on reporting to Amazon for the seller violating Prime.

    This seller is in Morocco.

The auction said that the items are in Miami.

Always a good idea to see where the seller is registered.

If they are International and shipping from the US, there's a good chance they are dropshpping from another retail site.

I don't think I can see the seller's address until after I buy.

Even then I am not certain that the address is complete or correct. I tried using Google Maps.

The city is Salé in Morocco but there is no street name.

    You don't need their address.

Check their feedback and it'll show where the seller is registered.

    Thank you.

That information is not straightforward to locate. It is found at https://www.ebay.com/fdbk/feedback_profile/<seller>

I always use desktop PC web browser to order.

They've made it a little harder to locate, but the little time spent checking it is worth it.

I only use a PC also.

Someone drop shipping is NO reason to 'report' them. They could very well be approved to do so and/or are housing their items with Amazon (for example) and then having them 'shipped' from there.

Not when there is a gift receipt.

I'll be reporting them to Amazon for violating Prime. Not that Amazon cares either.

If I wanted to buy from Amazon, I'd buy from Amazon.

Amazing how there are people out there that have nothing better to do than worry about 'where' something is coming from.

If you ORDRED xyz and xyz shows up on time- stop spinning out!

I don't want to buy from Amazon.

    There are many like us.

    I am not "worrying". LOL.

Seems you are the one "worrying" about me.

As a seller, I just click on your user name and then select, report buyer...I'm guessing it will work the same for buyers to report the seller.
