When we get full refunds on ebay for items that are defective or other issues does that always cover
Does it always cover shipping cost or would I have to pay out of pocket? Like if I have an item for $110 dollars but 17 or so of that is shipping cost. Would it cover the entire sale or would I be out 17 bucks? Someone sent me a request for a 40 dollar refund but to keep these defective laserdiscs. A good amount of them are not good and suffer from rot. I feel like sending it back but don't know if it mathematically makes sense unless I'm also reimbursed in full. I have decision to make and the information provided on this topic may help me out. Thank you for all! I didn't get the chance to check all the discs but so far there's probably been around 7 or 8 of the 17 laserdiscs that have been defective. I won these on an Auction and I know there's an inherent risk but I wish people that were listing discs would have a player or something to test on.

·2 years agoIf you received an item that was Not As Described, you can open a return case and select, Item is Not as Described. The seller will have to refund in full after the item is returned by a prepaid shipping label provided by the seller.
The seller has to cover shipping both ways.
If you open a return, you can come back here with questions if any arise.

OP2 years agoI opened the case as a defective items. Is that the same thing as Item is Not as Described? I think I clicked Item is Not as Described and then I clicked defective items. I'd prefer to send these back because this was a lot of money and I'm disappointed. I'm sure seller wants me to accept partial refund but I don't. I don't want these since the horror movies I wanted are all defective and they also happened to be the more expensive ones that are sold individually on ebay. So yeah a bit disappointed. Are sellers required to test the item before shipping it? I don't think I seen anything in the description say that these were untested or as is. So I don't believe Seller has a case.

·2 years agoIf the seller has provided a prepaid return label you can print from the return case, print it and send the items back. Seller has 3 days to provide a label IF one is not already available.
Sellers are not required to test anything.

OP2 years agolakefor94 is saying the seller wouldn't be responsible for the shipping. So now I'm confused with this topic. I can tell you I would never have bid on this if I knew a good portion of these discs had rot. Also, a couple of them had dirt inside the laserdisc box so I'm assuming this was trash picked or sitting at someone's curb. Overall I'm pretty disgusted. I think I might just contact my credit card company and talk to them over it if Ebay doesn't want to give a full refund. I'm getting sick of the **bleep** to be honest. I think some of you are saying I took an inherent risk by bidding on something that I didn't believe to have issues at the time of the bid. I don't think this is the same thing as betting on a sports game which I don't do. So I'm now confused on what to do because I'm a bit frustrated. Laserdisc rot isn't even suppose to be this common which makes me think someone else was tossing them out. I've been collecting laserdiscs for years on Ebay and this is not something common. There shouldn't be 7-8 bad laserdiscs out of 17 and it might even be higher than that. I haven't even tested all the discs out yet because of how frustrated I was when the movies that didn't work properly were the ones I put the bid in for.
