When EXACTLY Can I Open A INR?
Ordered an item back on November 22. Today is one day past estimated delivery date.
I try to open the INR. This is the message I get:
"If you haven't received your item by Dec 3, go to your Purchases and find the item. Then select More actions beside the item and choose I didn't receive it to open a request."
The purchase was made at 6:15 AM PST. Right now it is 9:28 EST. I SHOULD be able to open the INR, but I just get the message above. Not sure WHEN EXACTLY an INR can be opened?

There’s no place I know of that defines the exact time the statement refers to.
Trying to figure out what is meant by any given time EXACTLY is a fool’s errand in my opinion. The best we can do is make an educated guess.

·1 year agoI don't think the time you bought the item matters (other than the day). Today is the 3rd, if it's delivered today it's on time (BY the 3rd not BEFORE the 3rd). I suspect you will be able to file INR at 12:01am Pacific on the 4th.

OP1 year agoOur mail gets to our PO Box pretty early, so it's not here yet and tracking froze last Thursday. The LEAST I would expect from the seller (opening the INR to get their attention) is do a USPS trace. I might be able to that myself, though.
The earliest EDD was last Tuesday, so I'm just trying to make sure I don't forget to keep on top of this. It's not expensive, but it's a huge roll of bubble wrap we need for packing to ship our Ebay stuff

"No tracking updates since last week".
You may be able to open an INR dispute later today or tomorrow, but if there is tracking that shows the package is in the hands of a shipper, ebay may extend the time before you can use the Ask ebay to step in button in the dispute.

It might not have been one day past the ED date, to the very second, when you tried. Try again two or three days, or even a little longer past the ED. The seller isn't the one who posts the ED date, eBay does that, and sometimes eBay's estimate is, shall we say, optimistic. Also, shipping loads are gearing up as we approach Christmas. Give the seller a break and wait a few extra days. Is there tracking, and if so, what does it say?

I'm well aware the EDD is from Ebay and not the seller. I guess my confusion is that Ebay says I can open the INR today. I'm more of a seller than a buyer on Ebay (this account is now my posting account), so I'm willing to give the seller a break, but it is a China based account drop shipping from the US, which is ok, but I know I won't get anywhere just trying to contact them

You are trying 1 day too early.
Today is Dec 3 and the email message you received from ebay was:
"If you haven't received your item by Dec 3, go to your Purchases and find the item......"
The word 'BY' is key a Dec 3 is not over yet so you cannot open until the NEXT day.

OP1 year agoWas able to open INR this morning.
But I'm still puzzled.. if EDD was December 2, and one day past is December 3, why wait until Dec 4?
BUT it is what it is!

·1 year agoWas it actually December 2? Check the order confirmation email for the estimated delivery date that actually controls when you can file (the one displayed in Purchase History is subject to updates from the carrier).

OP1 year agoYes, December 2 was the EDD... yesterday, I could access the "I Didn't Receive It" option, but could only file the INR today

December 2 was TWO days ago … NOT yesterday … which may be why there’s confusion about time. 🤔
