    What to do when you been robbed

    Several months ago I purchased an amp from seller once the amp arrived I noticed that this amp was not gonna work for my application. I asked if you could exchange it he said yes as long as you pay for the shipping I pay for the shipping, and he issued me another one however, when that one came in, I was out of town working once I got back two weeks later I went to install found out that the amp does not work. I reached out to him. He said, too much time has passed and that he doesn’t have to do anything so I reached out to eBay and complained eBay reached out to him. He finally said send me the amp and I’ll bench tested. Once I sent him the amp he omitted that the amp had been faulty, and he would try to replace it if he could find something at the same value two months have gone by within that time by the time the whole time now since so much time has passed, eBay tells me there’s nothing they can do about it because the guaranteed eBay protection rates have passed now he has my product in my money, what can I do ?

    @bigez1976,

    "Several months ago I purchased an amp from seller once the amp arrived I noticed that this amp was not gonna work for my application".

    Since you told the seller that it became a buyer's remorse return and you would be responsible to pay the return shipping cost.

    "I asked if you could exchange it he said yes as long as you pay for the shipping I pay for the shipping, and he issued me another one however, when that one came in, I was out of town working once I got back two weeks later I went to install found out that the amp does not work. Technically the seller was right the time frame for using the money back guarantee (MBG) had passed, but they should have refunded you for the original purchase and shipping, when they received the first one back.

      What you should have asked them to do when you sent the first one back was to give you a refund, and then asked if they would notify you if they found another one that would work.  They could have listed it as a private listing for you, and the 30 day MBG protections would have started over from the day you bought the replacement.

    You can try filing for a refund or charge back, with your payment provider, but do not ask to be refunded for the return shipping cost. Hopefully, you saved the postal receipt to prove you returned the first one, otherwise they may turn you down, if you have no proof that you did send it back.

    Contact the seller and ask for a refund. If they don't send one then file a payment dispute and give your payment provider (PayPal, credit card, bank) the shipping info for the return. You'll have to check with your payment provider to make sure you haven't passed the claim window. PayPal gives you 180 days. Your credit card / bank might be less.

    you know what honestly I didn’t even think of that I’m gonna do so I’ll see where it goes. I appreciate it. Thank you.

    No prob. It's rare that I suggest filing a payment dispute - that should always be the last resort. But the product was faulty, you've already shipped the item back, seller is ignoring you, and you passed the MBG window. Your situation warrants a dispute; file it if you can.

    Next time pay attention to eBay's 30 day money back guarantee window for filing returns and claims. Good luck!
