What to do in such situation?
 
Hi, I have a package going to ebay shipping center by usps. It was out for delivery on Saturday but it was not delivered and I got awaiting delivery status. On Monday they did not even put it out for delivery. The package is probably small because it is a small set of postcards so I started to worry that they might lose it. I wrote to usps and they told me to ask the sender to request missing mail search. I wrote to the sender but he/she still did not respond. I cannot file missing mail search because I am not from US and I do not have information about how the package looked etc. What should I do if the package again will not be out for delivery and the sender will not answer me? Should I write to ebay then? I think I might stop buying from US because since 2025 there is always a problem with usps. I have another package sent by using usps also going to ebay shipping center and I am just scared what the new problem will be. Thanks

The Chicago area was hit hard by the storm that blanketed the country this weekend. Your package seems to have left the Carol Stream facility, but hasn't been accepted at the Gendale Heights hub even though they are a few miles apart. There are seller protections for late delivery in place because of the storm.

If you do not see a delivered scan at Glendale within a few days, call the USPS customer service number and ask them to locate your package.
Even if the package is received at the Glendale hub, there is likely to be a delay there in getting it on an aircraft bound for your buyer's country, because of the high number of flight cancellations and delays that are still happening. The international shipping is done using available space on commercial flights out of Chicago O'Hare.
