what to do if item is in day 8 now and seller acts like i just purchased

multimeter from China I'm sure but eBay loves China and there 11-day delivery while acting like an address in California is legit - unbelievable I'm contacting BBB. I've had enough! buyers are getting the short end of the stick always anymore - only within the last 4 years is this becoming an everyday thing on eBay

This may surprise you but the BBB has no power to do anything.

It exists to sell memberships to businesses.

Whatever effect they have is the result of voluntary actions by the business involved.

Buyers are more likely to visit any anonymous internet review site than visit the various BBB sites.

Legally the seller must ship within 30 days, if they have not previously specified and you agreed to a different date. Making a purchase with other terms is agreeing.

Buying online requires skills which some people lack. Your post seems to indicate that you may lack those skills. Either acquire them or buy in person. Imagine what is going to be like when online shopping is done for you via an AI agent.

Sellers are supposed to ship on time and from the stated location. I just accept the fact that there can be delays in mail order purchasing. Just part of shopping in a venue like this.

If you look at seller feedbacks you can see their eBay ID is in Hong Kong but drop shipping from California.

The photos of the items for sale are generic.

Signs to be careful who you buy from.

It doesn't mean you item is not coming.

It's probably coming from Amazon in California.

The only thing us buyers can do is check feedbacks of the seller before buying.

There are very few "short end of the stick" situations for buyers that are not covered by the Money Back Guarantee. And most of the situations where things go wrong for the buyer are due to the fact that the buyer hasn't availed themselves of the good protection that eBay offers via the MBG.

You did buy from a China based seller. On their feedback profile their place of registry is Hong Kong. From what I see there is a 12 day delivery time frame. You were probably given a domestic delivery service's tracking number, but if the item is coming from China, it will not update until it reaches the U.S. passes through customs, and is handed off to them. You can file an item not received dispute or a not as described dispute, since the item was not sent from a domestic location. one day after the last estimated delivery date, if the meter hasn't arrived.

Who are you going to report to the BBB? eBay? What will your report be for? The item location being different than advertised? That happens all of the time with domestic drop shippers, whose items say they will ship from one place, but that warehouse is out of stock so it ships from another. You still get what you ordered maybe a day or later than advertised? If you report the seller what good will that do? the BBB can't check out or do anything to seller's from outside of the U.S..

Am certain that you know this, however, may I remind you that there was an estimated delivery date in the listing where you made your purchase. Evidently, you were willing to wait that long. If/when that date arrives and you've not yet received your purchase, you need to open an item not received case with eBay the day after.
