What is the reason to use Ebay ever again?
I have paid circa 300 dollars in May 2023 for two Orders. They never arrived. Ebay says I shall contact the Seller. The Seller says he begging Ebay that they should refund me. After this Ebay responded, they are not refunding me. The Tracking menu says, contradictory things like the Items are somewhere in delivery for some 3 months OR USPS is awaiting the package. Whose fault ist this, nobody knows. I have thrown 300 dollars out the window, FOR NOTHING. Next time I may not use Ebay. There must be better ways of losing money. SOMEONE deleted those two orders from my purchase list. And Ebay has a cheek to advertise "Money back guarantee" on their pages. They are only customer friendly, when this does not cost anything.

·3 years agoOnly use AMEX for any eBay purchases. Period.
You could have just given them a call and you would have received an immediate refund. It would then be up to eBay to prove that the item was delivered.

OP3 years agoDo not order from Overseas (USA) very often. I did not see any options asking me what postal services I wish to use. Maybe next time AMEX if there will next time with EBAY. Weird enough, If I search for Tracking Number Ebay-Software keeps on sending me/Paypal I get the same response : USPS is awaiting package: https://parcelsapp.com/en/tracking/

"now I am awaiting response from Paypal, since they asked EBAY. Paypal and I are getting kind of unpersonal responses from EBAY making it look like they are mostly automated/non-human and therefore often make a little sense. My appeal against not getting refunded was denied by EBAY (software?) within minutes!"
If your evidence from the USPS was in the form of an email, and you used that for the appeal, ebay would not accept it because emails can be faked. You may run into the same issue with PayPal now that you have filed wih them. You should go to your P.O. with a copy of your Order details page and of the email you received from the USPS. Show the clerk those things and ask them to write a note on USPS stationary saying in general, the address on the label did not match the one on your order, and if applicable that the package type/size/weight was not appropriate for what you bought. They cannot give the specifics of the address or package. Ask the clerk to sign and date the note.
Once you have it, scan it or take a Clear photo of it to send to PayPal.

OP3 years agoI did not receive anything from USPS. The remarks about Carrier and USPS were on my Ebay page.

"I did not receive anything from USPS. The remarks about Carrier and USPS were on my Ebay page".
That message was in the form of "tracking shows delivered so we are closing the dispute", right?
That happens, because ebay is not allowed access to any information not on the USPS tracking page. Since ebay is partnered with Hewlitt Packard for the tracking information you see when you click on the Track Package button, they probably use that 3rd party info rather than the actual shipper's tracking site information.
They cannot see what the actual shipping label or package information says, because of shipping agencies privacy policies. Even the recipient has to prove to shipper's that the tracking number was given to them for the purchase, before they will compare the addresses and package info.

OP3 years agoNot quite customer friendly, to me very weird statement by EBAY (inhuman software?) says something like: "You wrote you did not get the packages, responsibility lies on seller, wo do not refund anything, in 4th of August the case is closed. Amen."
Is there any message by EBay in there, other than: "we don't care about your case and your package, even if you say it didnt arrive, and the status of the package is "its on its way for 3 months already", leave us Ebay alone?
It is not like, Ebay believes I got the packages, since it is shown on their very own website, the package is on the way, since May 2023.

·3 years agoThe Ebay "money back guarantee" is a total lie. Even following the policy correctly does not mean anything. I bought smoke alarms that never arrived, and I even had proof that the USPS tracking number was sent to somebody else's address. Now because Ebay denied my claim, I have to do a chargeback on my credit card. It shouldn't be up to my credit card to take the fall in this situation, but I have no other choice. It's time for Ebay to "man up" and take responsibility for their own policies.

I was able to use eBay's Money Back Guarantee when my package was sent to another name/address in my ZIP Code. It's a little tricky ... as you have to attach the 'evidentiary letter' from USPS to your case when you open it ... but it's doable. [You didn't actually say how you filed your case.]
There's certainly enough to criticize eBay about ... but saying that 'The Ebay "money back guarantee" is a total lie' is, itself, not true.

·3 years agoI filed my case through Ebay as never having received my item. Ebay denied my first request. Then, I appealed the case when I got evidence from the USPS that an item or package with my tracking number was mailed to a different address per the USPS. I had an "evidentiary letter" from the USPS.
Now explain to me how Ebay went and denied my claim.

·3 years agoWas mailed to a different address, or delivered to a different address? You got an actual statement from USPS? Sorry, not arguing with you, just curious. This method worked for me when I was a victim in the fake tracking scam. when I submitted the written statement on the delivery to Ebay, I was refunded immediately.

You would have needed a statement from the mail carrier that the items were delivered to a different address, not yours, and you could have submitted that to Ebay. Thats a fake tracking scam but Ebay is aware of it. But probably just as easy to go thru your cc.

·3 years agoNo one deleted those transactions from your purchase history, they just dropped off the default 'Last 60 days' view. If you look at the top right of your purchase history you'll see "See orders:" with a dropdown. Change that to 2023 and you'll see those purchases.

·3 years agoIf the USPS is awaiting the package is the latest tracking update, then that refund responsibility falls on the seller. Did you open an item not received case?
You could also file a chargeback with your credit card company.

OP3 years agoThanx for the response. First I am Trying Paypal. The seller was showing himself as very eloquent and experienced, but he would not pay for anything. Who can force him to do anything after all? Ebay writes seller has the responsibility, Seller says Ebay has the responsibilty to refund me. And there are contradictory informations about the package on different Ebay pages: 1. Carrier has the package. or 2. USPS is awaiting for the package. First version is being repeated by the seller.

·3 years agoYou do have Ebays MBG, its good for thirty days after the estimated delivery date. You should have opened an item not received case, its all automated. You let this seller string you along past that, thats on you. If you paid with Paypal, or your cc, you can file with one of those, both are good for six months.
My chase CC gives me two billing statements for a chargeback. After that, I’m SOL.
