What is contact number or email address for authentication center?
I’m a buyer. Authentication failed due to minor issue so the item will send back to seller but I still want it. How can I contact the authentication center to stop the return and just get it delivered to the buyer?

After the seller gets it back to the seller and they refund you, they could relist it with the issues pointed out and you rebuy. Depending on what it is and price point, it might/would still have to go to the authentication center again and hopefully pass. Lots of items don't pass because they don't match the description but are still authentic.

OP1 month agoThank you for the response. The item is a vintage 14K solid gold pendant, listed at around $500 in the Jewelry category. The gold itself is authentic, but the small stone in the pendant is not ruby as the seller described.
I understand the standard authentication process, but it seems inefficient to ship the item all the way back to the seller just to relist and go through the entire process again. I was hoping there was a way for the authentication center to deliver it directly to me, with a partial refund from the seller to account for the misrepresented stone. ( This part is already agreed with the seller)
Is there any way to escalate this or find a workaround?

·1 month agoIt's highly doubtful. EBay contracts with GIA to do jewelry authentications. I'm sure GIA is contractually obligated to handle authentications in specified ways and thus doesn't have the leeway to change those methods to accommodate your agreement with the seller. And eBay has no means to interfere in the authentication process.
The safest way to prevent further issues with this is for the item to be returned to the seller and for them to relist it. You said it was around $500. If the seller relists it for $499.99 it won't have to go through authentication again; $500 is the threshold over which jewelry is required to be authenticated.
