What happens when a buyer doesn't pay for an auction item?
I've never not paid for an item without talking to the seller first if I change my mind on something. I get that things happen sometimes. But, most of the time, I suspect it's buyer's remorse. It's rude. An auction ended almost 2 days ago, and I haven't received payment yet. I suspect I'm not going to get paid at all. It's especially annoying because I'm taking a loss on this item. A lot of things, I sell because when you get to middle age, space is more important. Anyway, I was just curious to know what kind of message the non-paying buyer receives. I know they get a strike on their account, but are they informed about this? I don't normally do auctions because I get so many non-paying buyers.
I once had a buyer come at me so mad because he said I didn't give him enough time to pay. He was really angry over it. I told him that eBay makes the timelines and sends the messages - not me. He ended up making ME so mad that I took his money when he did pay for it and refunded it right back to him. Maybe it wasn't the right thing to do (He ended up giving me a neutral feedback then.), but I didn't want to deal with this dude any more. So, I was just wondering what eBay tells these people. It used to be almost a week, I think, that they get to pay. I feel like 48 hours is enough. Most of the time, the buyers never get in contact with me again, I block them. I just don't think it's fair that they should be able to retaliate against me in feedback. Are they still allowed to do that?

·3 years agoI don’t know what to do and maybe you can help. Somebody bought some thing for me on eBay and it was brand new shoes. I mailed them out so they would get there on time and they never paid and now they have the item and aren’t paying but I don’t know how to get them in trouble for it and if I release the item or whatever I don’t have the item anymore they have it, but I haven’t been paid.
