What happens if you find out the seller is a scam, but you've already made a large purchase?
Just purchased Pokemon cards and didn't realize all the good reviews were auto-generated (FAKE) and all the bad reviews all say the same.. SCAM, empty envelope and not the products they bought.

In the future, make sure you read a seller's feedback profile before you make a purchase.
Be aware that auto-generated positive feedbacks are not fake.
Ebay automatically leaves positive feedback on a buyer's behalf for a seller after 7 days when tracking confirms delivery and the buyer has not reported any problems.
Hopefully this turns out well for you. Good luck.

·2 weeks agoRemember, with collectible cards you have 3 days to file for a INAD return, not the normal 30 days

·2 weeks agoBuyers cannot cancel without the cooperation of the seller; if the seller is actually a scammer, the scammer is unlikely to cooperate and refund voluntarily.
But that does not mean that the buyer has no other options.
If the seller delivers an empty envelope, the buyer can file a "not as described" return, return the empty envelope at the seller's expense, and if the seller will not refund voluntarily in that case once tracking shows delivery back to the seller, the buyer can ask eBay to step in and force a refund after three business days.

·2 weeks agoWhy would they do that? A scammer isn’t going to agree to cancel.
@ukrainianmomma if you receive an empty envelope, open a return request for Item Not As Described, and send back the empty envelope. If you get nothing, but it says delivered, come back here for advice (or someone else will likely provide more details on that, I haven’t saved instructions and it’s usually a bit more involved).

If the buyer requests a cancellation, the scamming seller will not receive any well deserved consequences.
