What do I do if a Seller clearly has not shipped?
I bought an item 2 weeks ago and the Seller has yet to ship....
I have contacted them 3 or 4 times with no response.
Do I really need to wait until the delivery period has lapsed before chasing this down with ebay?
If I leave a negative comment now, will it harm my ability to get a refund?
I don't want this seller to get away with this again with others and I feel I should leave feedback to warn others or perhaps jolt him into action.....
Please advise me on the above and what my best approach should be.

Given your location in S. Africa, it is possible if you received a tracking number for a local shipping service, that it will not update until the item has reached your country, cleared customs, and been handed over to them. If the seller used ebay's International shipping service (EIS) the tracking may stop at one of their handling hubs for several weeks until there are enough packages waiting to be shipped to S.A. to get a bulk shipping rate.
If no tracking number has been uploaded, you have to wait until the last estimated delivery date has passed, before you can file an Item Not Received (INR) dispute through ebay. If the item's seller is the last one you received a feedback from, check their feedback profile now!!!

OP2 years agoThanks for the reply.
Their current feedback is starting to look shocking, to say the least, which is why I have become so concerned. I have almost no doubt that the item has not shipped based on his latest feedbacks.
Also they have not responded to any of my messages.
Waiting until the delivery date lapses feels like a waste of time right now, it's pretty certain to me that this item is not going to be delivered, but if that's all I can do, then so be it.
In total I paid $256.60 for the item and shipping, will I get all this back when I get refunded?

·2 years agoJust noticed the remark about chasing this down with eBay.
Not sure why you would say that. Don't know if you've ever needed to open an INR case previously, but it's really pretty simple if you follow the directions on the MBG.
However, let's hope that won't be necessary.

It won't help.
Some large sellers never see their feedback and don't really care.
Some sellers have no concept of what "customer service" means.
And many non-US sellers, myself included, rarely use tracking at all because internationally tracked shipping is very very expensive while most buyers are honest and the postal system is very good at what it does.

OP2 years agoI am not sure how to collectively thank everyone so far for the advice.....
Most of you gave the exact same advice so it is wonderfully clear to me the approach I should take.
I cannot thank you all enough, it is greatly appreciated.

·2 years agoYou saw the estimated delivery date when you made the purchase.
You cannot open an INR case until the day after that date.
How fair would it be for you to leave negative FB if the item is not due to arrive yet?

·2 years agoTracking may not show up depending if item is purchased in South Africa or another country. Not all sellers use tracking depending on the cost of the purchase. Just have to wait until "estimated date of delivery" as stated in the eBay item sold to do anything.
Sometimes it's best not to leave a negative feedback. Everyone can read it. A reaction reading a nasty negative feedback might make sellers think twice selling to a buyer.

·2 years agoWhen you purchased the item, it showed an estimated expected delivery date. You should have known the seller had an extended handling time.
IMO, it's unfair to even consider dinging the seller for what you were aware of or should have been aware of prior to the purchase.

·2 years agoYes, you have to wait until the day after the last estimated delivery date to open an item not received case. Not all sellers upload tracking, and USPS is notorious for missing scans. While feedback won't have any effect on a case or refund, it's always better to wait until the transaction is complete to leave it. In this case completion would mean either the package arriving or getting a refund. As a side note, don't mention in your feedback that you had to open a case. That's against feedback rules and would let the seller have it removed.

·2 years agoFeedback is the last thing you do. Wait one day past the given delivery date. If it's not arrived, file an item not received case. Sellers are not required to provide or even use tracking numbers. So, it could be on it's way. You have to give it time to arrive before you make an issue of it.
