Was i gonna get scammed?
I was gonna buy a bike from someone selling a Honda 2005 cbr600 for only 1000$ the seller directed me to an email saying that they only made the Facebook post to 'help a friend' the seller and I emailed back and forth for awhile and they sent me a link to follow to get the privately listed bike on ebay
the payment said I could only pay in gift card which I pointed out and couldn't find the listing or the acount they provided on the actual ebay app
I asked for other pictures of the bike (which I had asked for earlier in the transaction) and they failed to provide any for a second time
I checked now, the listing is off Facebook completely along with the acount I messaged
And clicking the link that they gave me for the listing gives me a screen saying ' this acount has been suspended' and a contact help link that brings me to -'webmaster@site.com' in Gmail
They also got extremely upset when I mentioned it being a scam and started saying slurs in their emails
did I dodge a bullet or misinterpret everything?

·2 years agoDang yes ! You were about to be " played " like a fiddle. Yes a total scam from a liar and thief. Those too good to be true prices always are.
eBay never assists in sales of items on other sites. It must be listed on eBay to be an eBay sale. There is NO other way. eBay will NEVER tell you to pay with gift cards.
Some others reported it and Facebook removed it. Good for them.
You were wise to question that. You saved yourself from an expensive lesson. Most people come here after the fact and there is nothing we can do to get their money back.
Please tell others about what happened so they too will know.

·2 years agoWe see this on a daily basis here, total scam. As nobody*s_perfect states, we can tell from the first one or two sentences..

·2 years agoIt's a scam. I didn't even need to read past the second line of your post. eBay just doesn't work that way. eBay does not get involved with transactions from other sites such as Craigslist or Facebook marketplace.
