Wanting to buy toku goods, but scared as hell with custom duties.
Hello there everyone!
This post is pretty much a simple one so I’m gonna go on ahead and get the drama out of the way.
so I’m a big toku fan with franchises like kamen rider and super sentai, and one aspect of that is my liking to collect the merchandise, primarily the Dx toys from Japan! Cause Bandai make some high quality stuff. Problem now is cause of this tariff and custom duties stuff for items under $800, it has left me scared to buy things that are from Japan and resort to US sellers, but that drastically limits what I can get! I had seen other posts about how you should be able to see if the item has fees or not and how much they may ask or some items under $800 may at times not have the fees at all!
so with the backstory out of the way I would really appreciate it if any of you have any ideas or thoughts that may help keep me safe when I resort to buying my tokusatsu merchandise later down the road unless something comes up. Any comment on this post will be greatly appreciated.

·10 months agoThe under $800 de minimis exemption is gone.
You will find yourself paying both duties and customs clearance fees on items ship to the US.

·10 months agoUnless the seller has paid the duty. Some items are coming as as duty paid.
Of course in reality the tariffs/duties have mostly been added to the price in those cases.
If the listing will require duties/taxes to be paid it will state that on the listing in a big blue notice at the top from ebay.
