Want to buy smth that exceeds linked credit card limit
Hi all,
I want to buy something greated than the limit of my credit card linked to paypal.
What is the best way to overcome this?
If i "buy now" something, can i make 2-3 different payments in a reasonable time-window?
Can i pay some money first, pay off my credit card so limit is reseted, and then pay after 1-2 days the rest untill full payment is completed?

EBay cart DOES allow split payments (at least under certain circumstances). I have been prompted MANY times, asking me if I would like to split the payment between two credit cards. (I don't know if you can use Paypal as one and credit card as another, I only ever used split payment once when it maxed my card out).
Here's the catch, I don't know what the threshold is for price. I buy for resale, so I make a lot of purchases in the $500-$2,000 range and some much more, so I don't know at what point the split payment option kicks in. I'm not sure if this purchase meets the threshold or not.
If this maxes out your total credit line, then you need to figure a work around. If this maxes out your available credit line because you have a balance, pay off as much as you can and open up as much credit line as possible.

Here is the link that discusses split payments in EBay's cart. Only becomes available on purchases over $500. I believe it's only good for 2 cards. Can't use paypal balance or something.
Another thing to look into is PayPal's Pay-in-4 program, I've no experience with it but I've heard a lot of people talk about it.

·2 years agoPayPal recently added a capability to split payments between different cards, for purchases that qualify. Not sure what the qualification requirements are.
I have seen a similar feature lately when checking out on eBay, but again, I do not know how eBay decides which purchases or payment sources qualify.
If you only have one card, that will not help, though.
PayPal does have a pay-in-4 option for purchases up to $1500, and some monthly plans for larger purchases:

·2 years agoEbay offers no option but one payment, which must be made within four days of purchase. You need to investigate options that might be available through Paypal.

·2 years agoPay off credit card payment first...then in a few days you can use that credit card.
There are no partial payments.
