WALMART Bagged Items shipped by AMBIENT
Summary: 1950rek posted a PSA for buyers, advising them to inquire about packaging and shipping details to avoid issues like receiving incomplete orders in retail store bags. They shared a personal experience where they received only part of a purchased order and struggled with a seller over policy violations. Several participants agreed, emphasizing the importance of checking seller feedback to avoid similar situations. They also discussed policy enforcement challenges and how sellers frequently bypass rules by using drop shipping from retail stores. Despite receiving a refund, 1950rek expressed frustration over the lack of effective enforcement.
The intent of this post is a PSA for buyers.
Ask the seller if your item will be packed in a box or plastic bag.
Ask the seller who will be the shipper.
Ask the seller where your item is located.
I tried to purchase a "Pack of 4".
3 Items arrived in a WALMART bag.
The seller requested that I "close the case" to receive a partial refund for the missing item.
I requested to get what I purchased, send the missing item, to close the case.
I received a full refund as the seller WOULDN'T send the missing item.

OPJul 11, 2026 at 8:18 PMAgain, Policies are only as good as their enforcement...
I filed a report quoting (copy/paste) the the listing:
Shipping:
Free UPS Ground.
Located in: Brooklyn, New York, United States
My "proof of delivery" seller-supplied photo, shows a poly WALMART bag
with a label coded for MY local WALMART location (NOT in NEW YORK).
eBay "looked into it":
"We looked into your report and didn’t find the listing to be in violation of our policy. This determination was made using automation or artificial intelligence."
The AI spawned summary at the top of this page seems to get it:
"1950rek warned buyers to ask sellers about packaging and shipping details after receiving an incomplete order in a bag from a retail store."
Chief Inspector AI proves GIGO.
I'm done crying about three free items...

·Jul 11, 2026 at 8:16 PMAnd then prepare for the Seller to block you from purchasing, or cancelling and then blocking you from ever purchasing again as ALL those questions would cost more in time to 'respond' than the average profit $...
ESPECIALLY for an item that could 'fit in a bag'.

·Jul 11, 2026 at 8:10 PMAfter that first question, it's a waste of time asking the next ones ... chances are that seller will add you to the dreaded 'stay away from me list' after seeing it and any future questions will be directed to the ether.
Others have said this may just be a courtesy refund from eBay so don't try it again 😎

OPJul 11, 2026 at 3:06 PMYes,
Dealing with an eBay policy violator resulted in me receiving 75% of what I didn't pay for (full refund). Policies remain as good as their ENFORCEMENT.
The seller's feedback shows how long the "violation" has been permitted.
Yes,
AMBIENT is not a shipper, my mistake.

·Jul 11, 2026 at 5:01 AMYou are dealing with an Ebay policy violator who hasn't been caught yet.
This seller will not honesty answer those questions.
The way to avoid this problem is not to read FB, They way to avoid this problem is to know what the market price of this item is, and not to pay a premium to that price when buying from an Ebay seller.
There are Ebay sellers all over the world who take advantage of Ebay buyers by selling them overpriced merchandise that the seller will buy from a Walmart, Amazon, Sam's Club or Costco online.
You also may find an even low life form Ebay seller who pays for the dropship with a stolen credit card, and offers a bargain price. Guess whose name will be on that illegal transaction.

·Jul 11, 2026 at 4:50 AMThe truth is the seller COULDN'T send you the missing items, because they didn't ship the items - Walmart did, and that is against ebay policy because the seller ordered the items AFTER you made your purchase.
The good news, you will always get a full refund from sellers like these, because they also CAN'T take returns (even if they allow returns) because they didn't ship the item so there's nowhere to return the item to insofar as the return shipping label goes.

FYI,
If people start asking those three questions, especially from high volume sellers, it is doubtful they will get a reply, especially if the drop ship from a product source who actually packs and ships the items.
Sellers do list an item location and most list the delivery service either next to the shipping cost or it can be found by clicking on the See details button.
Before buying from a seller, check their feedback profile and click on the numbers of non positive feedback they have received. The seller you bought from has several neutral an negative feedback saying items were shipped by Walmart.

·Jul 10, 2026 at 8:53 PMYou did the right thing. Never close a case until you have in hand what you want.
The word ambient is not the shipper, it means the item can be held at room temp. They used wally as a drop shipper and that too is not allowed by eBay.
