Unauthorised use of my debit card by Ebay
I was browsing items & clicked on some as 'my favourite' only to receive a message from Ebay later that day to say they had purchased the items on my behalf using the card details I have used on previous purchases. I am outraged.

·2 years agoYou are sure you did not click buy it now or make an offer? Those offers are binding and do make a sale if the seller accepts. While very rare, there could have been an issue with how the web page responded to your favorite clicks. If your sure you did not click the wrong thing, I would contact eBay customer support.

·2 years agoEbay doesn't just buy items on your behalf.
If you received a message like that, then you made an offer. You committed to the purchase and pre-authorized the payment.
Most people are unaware of the pre-authorized payment, apparently you're unaware you even made an offer!
Did you make an offer and did that offer require you to supply a method of payment? If yes, then your seller accepted your offer and the payment method you selected was used to pay. It was authorized by you.
Just putting items in your watch list or as favorites won’t charge your account. Making offers does.
