Unacceptable Lack of Live Customer Support on eBay
Summary: A participant expressed concerns about the lack of live customer support on eBay. Several responses from others acknowledged the issue, but specific details of their content were not provided. The discussion potentially included shared experiences or suggestions regarding eBay's customer support services. It seems the discussion was ongoing with multiple contributors expressing their views on the topic.
This is beyond frustrating. A company of your size and resources *still* doesn’t offer 24/7 live customer support? Your "help center" forces users into a loop of useless bot responses, only to finally suggest *emailing* and waiting **24-48 hours** for a reply—like it’s 2005. Meanwhile, urgent issues pile up, and buyers/sellers are left stranded.
And no, calling shouldn’t be the only "solution"—getting transferred endlessly to reps without getting clear assistance isn’t help, it’s torture. How is this acceptable in 2026? Fix it.
— A fed-up customer who expects better.

·4 months agoI guess you've never tried to contact Twitch before, eh? You can't even request a call from them. You don't know how good you have it here.

·4 months agobenn down that road...I wrote to the [Removed by mod] or this one [Removed by mod]
I spent over $5k in just a few months and when it came to a refund the seller would not give it to me when she was wrong never got that money but the second one I did get the refund. I proved it to Ebay an they would not approve it that the seller was wrong.

·4 months agoEbay is an automated site, it is designed to work without human intervention....for the good or for the bad.
Im not even sure today what a customer would ask of eBay CS that would produce any results...that cant make changes, they cant make decisions, they cant release your funds...they can only listen to your problems & basically make you feel good when you hang up, and even that is a stretch. They are just poorly trained telephone therapists
edit: came up with one good reason you may need to contact a person...you received a bogus return label. Although, in that situation I might take that info to my bank/payment source instead of my "therapist"

·4 months agoYou are right, lets make america great by using AI for everything and get nowhere. Also lets become greedy and not use humans who cares about the people buying on ebay. They forget if it is not for us buyers they would be still sitting on their items and Ebay would not be making money. Be kind to the buyers! I see that what I buy whcih is collectables that the sellers are leaving Ebay. The ones that are on Ebay the prices are a joke how much they want for them and they will sit there for months to over a year. This is the kind of brain they have they forget some other seller will come along and sell it for way cheaper then what they have it.

Actually, I think there was live help in 2005.

·4 months agoTo get a live agent you must go to Chatbox then type in your issue then type in "Need to speak to an agent." You would then request a call back for an agent to call you back. Now if you want an accurate response I would suggest telling us what your problem is and we will let you know how to handle it.

·4 months agoI think you assume eBay employees are here reading this -
This is buyers and sellers just trying to help others out.
Most large companies have gone away from live CS.
I have never seen an email for CS here.
There is a call center in another country but if you want real information, you should post here.
99% of issues can be fixed by just asking the question and following along.
I do not see companies going back to the early 2000s and paying CS agents to do what AI and a few clicks can accomplish,

Are you located in the US?
"A company of your size and resources . . ."
Most of those who post here are not eBay employees or management. We're a very large group of fellow eBayers who volunteer here to help others when we can. If you'd like to return and detail your issue, we'd like to help if possible or at least offer sympathy.

You'll probably get more help here then with CS.

·4 months agoI'd recommend you ask your question here! Many times, the volunteers on this board can provide better assistance if it doesn't require direct access to your account! None of us work for eBay, but very few problems require speaking to anyone who does.
