Trying to get ipad original receipt from the seller
Hello everyone, there is this iPad pro i bought in 2018, few months ago, I changed the password to the one I don't remember and locked me out. I contact apple to reset the password but the receipt for the iPad is requested. I contacted eBay but couldn't speak to human, and the seller is not responding. please how can I resolve this issue?

·1 year agoYou bought it SEVEN years ago and you think the person that sold it to you still has the original receipt?
Heck, I bought a new one 2-3 years ago at Target and I don't even have the receipt. The only receipts I keep for 7 years are business related receipts.

·1 year agoApple is looking for the original receipt from Apple or an authorized dealer. Heck, anyone could buy a stolen item and get a receipt from the "dealer" if it was that easy...or just make one up

Maybe you can reset it yourself. Check out this article: https://support.apple.com/en-us/119858

·1 year agoDid you go to an 'Apple Store' for help and not just call on the phone or email them.
Make an appointment and service rep can help in that in person.
They can actually help only if it is in person.

In terms of the 'original' receipt, I'm guessing they're wanting the brick and mortar store version... I'd seriously doubt the seller still has this. Would you keep a store receipt from an item you sold on ebay 7 years ago??
Your only hope here is to follow @eburtonlab's advice, and pray that's enough to satisfy them.

·1 year agoFor tax purposes, I keep all receipts for 7 years. After that, they are trashed. So for a 2018 receipt, I'd trash it at the end of this year.

If Apple is asking for a receipt, most likely they are looking for the original receipt from Apple, not an eBay receipt.
If an eBay receipt will do, go to your Purchase History using a desktop browser, change the year to 2018, find the transaction and view the order details. Then use the "Printer friendly version" link to reach a page you can print or save.
