Trust broken on eBay. Now what?
Hello.
I bought a pixel 7a from a seller that claimed the phone was new, unsealed. I received the phone in a sealed box and I used the phone normally until I had to send it to a technician. The technician asked me if the phone was refurbished because of a imprint on the rear cover (besides the durability of the phone). That happened 8 months after I received the phone.
Now I don't trust the tags anymore. I couldn't give a bad review because it happened months after purchasing the phone (and I needed to send it to a technician for it). Now how do I trust eBay at all? Or which are my options to appeal on this?

About the technician asking, well I informed him that the phone was new before handing it. Later I receive a call from him asking if I was sure if the phone was new.
About the advices, well yeah, I'll have a better judgment when buying a phone. It wasn't the first time I bought a phone from eBay so it wasn't something new. Besides, the seller had a good review (of course it will have good rep not being able to give a bad review after months. How many others have had this problem).
Thanks again for replying 🙂 I appreciate it.

·1 year agoDon't buy phones on Ebay. You only receive a 30 day money back guarantee. If something happens past that then the costs are on you to fix whatever the issue is.

·1 year agoIf you want to decide what to trust, consider whether you should trust your judgement when you decided to buy a smartphone on Ebay from a seller who was probably not an authorized reseller of the product,
Would you buy a smartphone from someone selling them out of the trunk of his car?
Buying on Ebay is like buying out of the trunk of a car with an added 30 day refund if defective.

·1 year agoSay what? Pretty sure to get selling on ebay it's a bit more complicated than popping the trunk.

Was the tech not sure if it was refurbed or not?

·1 year agoIt isn’t eBay that you don’t trust, because eBay didn’t sell you anything a seller on eBay sold you the phone.
Buyers have Money Back Guarantee that is good up to 30 days from delivery. That time has past.
Most Credit cards give you up to 120 days to file a NAD claim PayPal gives from 30 from delivery or to 180 days from date of purchase to file a not as described claim, sadly the time for filing has past.
You have no appeal options after all this time….sorry.
In the future, when looking to buy cell phones it is best to do so locally.
