Tracking stopped
I’m awaiting a parcel - a small collectible card - from the US (to the UK). On the 6th, after flying through domestic post, it was “out for delivery†to the hub… until it “arrived†on the 16th. 10 days. Now, it’s been sat at that “arrived at the hub†since then. No movement for 4 business days.
Is that typical? Is the eBay International Shipping service experiencing delays of late?

·1 year ago@ry7189 i get y u r worried, but pkgs r known to sit at ebay hubs for days, depending on how many pkgs they have to check.
as far as US social setbacks, all countries have their problems, some more than others, obviously, but unless there is a postal strike, like in Canada, there is little if any affect on our postal system.
Check in with the seller for reassurance. Cheers!

It is "normal" for eBay Standard Envelopes to only get 'out for delivery' scans to the EIS hub. It is also normal for items to stay at 'arrived at hub' for up to a week. Usually after that time several tracking updates will appear at once. They seem to have a knack for cutting the timing right to the last estimated day, but they always get it there.
The upside to this slowness is that if there's any issues that need a return/refund, the process will be expedient since you will be dealing directly with eBay and not a disgruntled seller.

"I may still ask how they packed the card for shipment, if it doesn’t move in the next couple business days".
I would ask the seller about their packaging now. The EIS was meant for packages, not envelopes. Packages arrive at the hub, then wait until there are enough of them to fill an air cargo container, before being shipped to your country. It is possible that mail (envelopes) are placed in a mailbag and put into the container but I'm not sure about that, and would worry about an envelope being lost.
"It may just be a backlog at the hub, but it’s not on the seller if the hub lost it or refuses to post it because of their system".
If the hub refuses to forward the item it would most likely be because the seller didn't fill out the customs declaration form properly or it came off a package or envelope. It may take awhile for the hub to get enough packages to fill a container given the Tariff situation slowing down international purchases from U.S. based sellers. Then of course there could be customs delays in the U.K..
On your home site www.ebay.co.com there should be a notice on the login page saying eBay is keeping track of the tariff situation and will update as information is received. You may want to post a discussion on the U.K. community boards asking if people there have experienced delays with ebay's international shipping.

·1 year agoHas the estimated delivery date passed by at least one day?
Do you know what you can do in that case?

OP1 year agoNot yet, there’s about ten days for it to fly through the remainder of its journey before officially being late. I’m just worried because I’ve already had one from another seller apparently go missing on its way to the hub. Both sellers have 100% feedback, so I’m confident in them. I’m also aware the US has had a lot of setbacks politically in recent weeks, so I’m wondering if it’s become the norm for things to get delayed during shipping.

·1 year agoIf you still have 10 days before the estimated delivery date, it's a little early to start worrying.

OP1 year agoYeah, thanks. I’m the anxious type that worries about things not in my control. Plus, It was a bit suspect to me that this one was “out for delivery†to the hub for 10 calendar days and has sat at the depot for another 4 after getting to the hub. Especially as tracking for a separate one didn’t update for 2 weeks, getting lost in the system before it even reached the hub.

·1 year agoWhat "political setbacks" has the US had in recent weeks that could possibly affect the shipping/delivery of your package?
And why are you worried when you state that it has ten more days to be delivered?
ry7189
OP1 year agoWell, let’s see; protests, DEI firings, ICE raids and deportations. And, as stated prior, I’m the anxious sort. When things don’t move smoothly (10 days on one status, 4 on another; and with another item having already gotten lost), I think I’m entitled to be a little worried about my purchases to ask questions of people who might have more experience with the particular service.

Did you check the seller's feedback profile to see how much selling experience they have?
Did you check the shipping option(s) the seller uses to mail cards? If not then open the listing from your purchase history and on the right side under the Item price you will see Shipping: then a cost and possibly a service followed by an underlined See details button. Click on that to see what services were offered.
If the seller isn't experienced they may have sent the item to the hub, using an improper service for international shipping such as ebay standard envelope or first class mail. eBay's International shipping (EIS) is for shipping packages not envelopes especially not ebay's standard envelope (ESE) system.
Look at the shipping options the seller used, and if and international service is not given, contact the seller and ask them how they packaged the card and what service they used to ship it.

OP1 year agoThey have 17k sales to their name. I was wary upon seeing eBay International Shipping, as I’ve heard mixed reviews on their service, but the 100% feedback of the seller put me at ease. I may still ask how they packed the card for shipment, if it doesn’t move in the next couple business days. It may just be a backlog at the hub, but it’s not on the seller if the hub lost it or refuses to post it because of their system.

·1 year agoI'm somewhat surprised to find that ebay standard envelope shipments are "improper" for ebay International shipping, I've sent many through EIS with no problems?
