Tracking number scam
I dont even know where to start. I purchased a "item" that was meant to be shipped from EU. As soon as the seller provided the tracking number i got suspicious because it showed it's originating from CHINA. A few days after that it shows USA, and for the last month it's been back and forth in between various US cities. I have been patient enough to follow ebays guideline, reporting the scam, providing actual proof and waiting the 30 days for the money back guarantee. Today, as i file the item not received clame i immiditaly get put on HOLD until May 11, asking me "The seller provided tracking that shows the item is currently on its way to you. You should receive it soon." Is this seriously how you handle customer interactions ? This most of been some automated way of doing it because not only was it so quick, its also lack the context of my actual fraud case i had opened. I Also have multiple customer support people exactly acknowledging that item is in fact in US.
For any customer support representative whos going to comment on this, just save you're time. Im tired of hearing the same "ebay money back guaranteed" pitch sale. At this point i dont want the item and i just wnat my money back

No one responding to you on this community is an ebay employee.
You are located in Portugal but have posted your problem on eBay's U.S. based site's community
( ebay.com ). Portugal does not have its own ebay site. What country in the EU was the item supposed to be coming from? If that country has its own eBay site, that is where you should be filing claims and talking to its customer support people. If you opened a dispute on this country's site, the response you received is the standard response that is posted when a new dispute has been opened and there is tracking showing an item is in a postal system. Do you know what company the tracking umber is associated with?

OP5 months agoThen i'm even more disappointed at an enterprise like ebay. They should have distributed content and servers serving the website to clients based of geography. The fact that in 2026 i still need to make sure which website i'm on is ridiculous. The country is supposed to come from is Poland. I purchased it from ebay.com from my same account i have had for multiple years. I shouldn't have to raise support for ebay.pl if i bought it using ebay.com with shipping to PT. The tracking company is JCEX which is a very well known company who enabling this types of scams, i also have provided multiple resource proving this. Its also very frustrating that ebay itself doesn't follow it's own policies about item, because i should have the right to cancel the transactions given it's not even being routed trough EU, therefor im not liable to pay any import duties.

·5 months agoeBay is not here - this is buyers and sellers who try to help out others.
On eBay you have 30 days from the estimated delivery date or the date tracking shows delivered to file Not Received. You have not said what the estimated delivery date is.
If the tracking number shows movement, eBay will allow more time for the item to be received.
There are no CS people here.

OP5 months agoestimated delivery date was 16th of april then 29th of april. Not sure why that would be of interest since its tracked by ebay systems and therefor they know exactly when it was supposed to be delivered.

The they need to make a better tracking system. Movement =! Reality and it would be in ebay's best interest to make sure the system they use has the most accurate and complete info if they are going to use AI to parse these cases.
