Top Star Collection
Hi, this is for top star members to answer only. I recently got in top star, and 1/11 will be my first collection. I wanted to know if I will be able to purchase multiple sneakers from the collection, because I am very interested in a few, or do I only have to choose one? Please let me know, thank you.

Congratulations on becoming an eBay Top Star member. As a new member did you read the program requirements on spending you are committing to? As a member you have access to the details and expectations of the program. I think the answer to your question can be found within the program itself.

What do you mean by 'top star member / collection'? I'm not familiar with that term.
Are you currently being restricted as to how much you can spend ... OR how many items you can bid on?
I want to make sure a scam isn't involved ... so it would help if you would supply a link to where you are seeing the information about 'top star'.

Required to spend $1500 per quarter...that leaves me out. LOL
An invite-only rewards program.
As far as an answer....might want to work on that feedback rating before getting an invite.

So they’re called ‘sneakers’ again? I thought sneakers were those off-white, canvas shoes with flat, rubber, rippled soles that were only worn in gym class!
Kids were mortified if they forgot to change out of them when they returned to a classroom. Or so I’ve been told by ‘the ancestors’. 😉

Those sneakers WERE Keds. I also remember that if you didn't have Keds, you were wearing 'Buddys'. Mortifying.
I'd do extra chores just to get Keds...

Does anyone remember PF Flyers - Red Ball Jets? If I had mine from the '60s I could sell them and retire LOL!

·2 years agoTo tell you the truth, I'm not sure they were really Keds. I think we used it (improperly) as a generic term, like we used Kleenex for any facial tissues and Fridgidaire for any refrigerator and Aspirin for any acetylsalicylic acid (except in Canada, where Bayer held onto its brand and we called it ASA.)

·2 years agoActually, we called them "tennis shoes" where i was in the U.S. and "tenny runners" where I was in Canada. I never heard them called "sneakers" when I was growing up.
We could not wear them at school, either, except while playing certain sports. And everyone I knew was determined to stop wearing them (except for sports) at about age 12 or 13 in favor of strictly "adult" footwear.
Our parents put us into them in the first place because they were comparatively cheap and because since they were canvas with a lot of "give," we didn't instantly outgrow them.
I am ancient.

I seem to recall ‘sneakers’ coming before ‘tennis shoes’ back in Queens … the latter term becoming more popular to distinguish them from ‘running shoes’ later on.
I never stopped wearing them to school … once they were allowed … and way beyond. They were sooooooooo comfortable … as well as SAFE … if you’re a klutz given only 10 minutes between classes in a 3-story high school covering 4 city blocks. They were challenging to dance in, however.
I prefer ‘timeless’ to ‘ancient’. 😋

Not really.
Quite ordinary sneakers cost $250 or more these days.
So $1500 might be one pair.
And yes.
They are kept like any other collectible.
If you watched the show "Blackish" the father was a "sneakerhead"and had a special closet for his shoes.
Accessories are a big thing these days.
I've never been into sneakers, but at one point I owned 41 pairs of shoes and 75 purses.

LOL! I have one leather wallet over 10 years old, it was a Christmas gift meaning FREE for me ... once it wears out I will buy a new one ... imagine the money I save not having 75 wallets!!!

·2 years agoI have two purses: One black one for everyday use, and one dressy black one. I have had them both for over 20 years. Every once in awhile, I also use a handwoven totebag a friend brought me from KuÅŸadası about 13 years ago. I guess I'm what you'd call an "accessories minimalist." 😄

She died in 1949, age 80. She may have bought it before her marriage.
I keep meaning to take it to the cobbler and have her resusitate it,but it's too small for most of my needs.
