Suspicious purchase by me
I bid on a item advertised on Ebay on the 14th of Jan and paid straight away when it finished on the 21st. I have since found that he sold this very same item on the 14th of Jan, so it has been sold to two different buyers within a week . I have messaged the seller to see what is going on with no reply. He has not even despached it.
What sould I do?

"the photos of each item have the same serial number".
Did you read the previous replies before replying to ckimodog?
If the original winner requested cancellation, the relisted auction would be fore the same item ergo the serial number would be the same. If the previous auction ended with a very low price, is possible the seller decided not to go through with the sale. Usually when that happens, it is because the seller is new or has not sold anything in over a year. You can check the seller's feedback profile page to see if that is the case. That is just one reason for checking seller's feedback profiles before buying from them.
If the seller is new or doesn't sell often they probably ran into 2 issues:
1) They took ebay's poor advice to start an auction at a low price, to encourage bidding, which often does not work out well for new sellers.
2) The seller may not have shipped because as a new/returning seller they may not know that ebay places a 21 day hold on those sellers first few payments. On their account the payment status shows the payment as Pending, so they do not think they have been paid yet, and will not ship. They may consider messages about shipping to be from a scammer as well.
If you find that the seller is a new or returning one, and still want the item, message them saying if they have not shipped yet because of the Payment status, to do a google search for "Payments on hold, ebay". If they do that they will get the info they need to complete the transaction and get the funds released sooner.

The seller may have more than one of them or perhaps they relisted it because the buyer didn't pay. That happens a lot with auctions these days.

Sellers who auction their items cannot list two auctions for the same item at one time. Meaning if they had multiples of the item they would have to let one auction end before starting a new one. It is also possible the winner of the earlier auction requested cancellation for some reason. As titipeo wrote, You have to wait until the last estimated delivery date has passed, before you can file a claim using the Money Back Guarantee.
FYI. This is the U.S. based site (ebay.com) in the future if you have to ask a question in the Community make sure you are logged in to the U.K. site (ebay.co.uk). Some of the policies are different on the two sites. Not this one though.

If they have multiple items, they can list them simultaneously. I always titled one "gizmo 1" and the second "gizmo 2" and so on.

·3 years agoCould it be that seller has more than one item and they are listing it one at a time. Why are you contacting seller, they are not required to respond. What does listing shows for sellers handling time?
At this point, you have to wait until expected delivery date has passed, and then submit an Item not Received case. In the meantime, get yourself familiarized with eBay's Money Back Guaranteed.
