Suspecting seller never posted the item
Bought something in December, it was supposed to arrive before 4th of January, untracked by Yodel. On 4th got a message from seller if I received my parcel which I didn't. Seller said it was delivered but offered a refund straight away, I asked for item instead, they said it might get lost again. Asked for proof of delivery so I can chase the parcel on my side. Got number for FedEx, checked it, parcel was delivered but the details were not mine (neither name nor address matched). In a meantime they got bad review for more or less the same issue. So I'm suspecting they never posted it in the first place (probably high costs, and was listed free delivery) Just wanted to ask if I should raise it with ebay or just let it go?

If the seller sent you a FedEx tracking number that showed Delivered to a different address, and postal code your best bet would be to circumvent the standard ebay route so you can leave appropriate feedback. Because you are located in the U.K. how best to do that is something you should ask about on your home site's community, using the link below. This is the U.S. based site's community and our method of direct contact may be different.

If you file an item not received (INR) dispute a computer will look at the tracking# for a delivered scan, it cannot look at the delivery address. Since there is one, it will find in favor of the seller, negating the ability to leave a negative feedback. If you leave one before opening a dispute, it can be removed when you lose the initial dispute.
On your site's community ask how to contact ebay outside of normal channels so you do not lose the ability to leave feedback.

OP1 year agoThanks for your reply, didn't realise it wasn't uk.
I could probably just agree for the refund and leave a negative feedback anyway, just like the other person did, but I feel there is something going on there and giving false tracking numbers is definitely not ok

I hope this message shows up in your U.K. inbox.
If you get a refund from the seller you will not be able to leave a negative feedback, because ebay has mistakenly decided that receiving a refund instead of an item makes the buyer whole.
The negative feedback you see on a seller's profile were left by those who did not file an INR dispute. Unfortunately, many people even long time ebay members have never read the terms and time frames of the Money Back Guarantee, so they do not know how to file disputes.

OP1 year agoNo, I think the other buyer just accepted the refund straight away, without dispute. I preferred to get my order, and then something wasn't right, so decided to dig into it a bit. Seller acussed me of leaving bad review despite the fact they're trying to solve the issue, didn't even bother to check who's review was it
