Still waiting for a order
Ok, I’ll try to cut this short. I purchased a tripod on the 9th of August and the seller messaged a few hours later,
“Hello
To give back to customers who support our products. We are giving away a mini ball head for free (useful to install a flash when taking pictures, a very useful little accessory). This means that you will receive two packages: a mini ball head and a purchased product.â€
Ok, great, but something I won’t use. On their eBay shop the ball head is priced at £11.99
Anyway, I tracked my tripod purchase via the tracking number they gave me and on the 17th Postie knocks at the door and in her hand a very small box,, me thinking, that’s a very small tripod? Anyway box is opened and it’s the ball head which on inspecting the label is the tracking code put on eBay. Nothing else arrived.
I contact the seller and ask if there is a different tracking number for the tripod. They message back with a link that goes to a different courier “TakeSend†with a TakeSend tracking number. The first courier was Orange Connex and then to Royal Mail.
I’ve checked the link which is t.17track.net also the TakeSend site (after changing from Chinese to English which was a pain to do trying to find the right button to click) and it is saying it is with DHL and said in the context DHL take off on the 15th at 20:20 about an hour after the first one left and that where it ends. No DHL tracking number, nothing.
On my eBay account it it saying item delivered, but it’s not. My question is, do I start the process of item not received now or wait till the original estimated arrival date of the 22nd to start the process of getting a refund or ask for the product. I’m not sure what to do as now that window for eBay stepping in is now ticking away.
The other thing that’s left me scratching my head is, that there were three of these tripods for sale, which I paid £119 for, I’ve since checked the site again and they are now at £148 for the same tripod from the same seller.
My feeling is, have I just been shafted.
Any suggestions would be great.

OP2 years agoOk, quick up-date. The item I purchased arrived today so I can stop and breathe again. What had happened is, the courier service they used didn’t update the tracking on the other item and used what what should have been the tracking number for the purchased item and not the other one as it was all done through their system 🙄. I literally got a text at 06:50 GMT from DHL stating they were going to drop my parcel off. All arrived tip top which is good. I received an apology for the mess up the courier service made. So item not as described cancelled and I have my purchased, think I’m lucky because it could have good the other way.

·2 years agoOpen a Return request, citing 'Doesn't match description and photos'. You may have to return the junk you received to get your refund... but I'd bet not. Escalate the case to eBay if you don't get a return shipping label. Good luck.

When you file the item not as described dispute make sure you are logged into ebay's U.K. site (ebay.co.uk). You have posted your issue on the U.S. based site's (ebay.com) community.
When you file the dispute it is possible the seller will add the DHL tracking number trying to stall you past the point of being able to ask ebay to step in, and bamboozle ebay into giving them more time.
If your seller is a Bussiness seller registered in the U.K. and the item location was given as being in the U.K., login to the U.K. site's community, post what has happened and ask how to report the seller for giving a false item location, and sending the tri-pod from China. In the report also mention that the "gift" was delivered using the tracking number that was uploaded to the purchase. You may want to save the package it arrived in so you can photograph the label and box as proof of what you received.
Once you have filed the not as described dispute and return shipping has been arranged leave appropriate feedback describing what the seller has done.

·2 years agoDON'T DO ITEM NOT RECEIVED !!!!!!
That is the trick, you received something, so if you file an ITEM NOT RECEIVED claim, you will lose. They have the tracking number to show "something" was delivered. Instead what you need to file is ITEM NOT AS DESCRIBED. And, yes, I would file that right away.
