Sold Defective Product - No response from Seller - How best to contact Ebay for help??
Hello - I bought an electronic part for my car in June of this year through Ebay. The part (a center console) was about $874 - my first and only Ebay purchase. When my dealership tried to install the console, they informed me that the unit was defective and did not work at all. Unfortunately, when I finally got it into the dealership for replacement, it was past 90 days from product purchase. And the sale listing noted no returns.
However, I think any restrictions on time or returns should be void if a defective product is sold. I’ve emailed the seller several times to request a return and refund. I’ve only received one initial response that they tested the product and it should work. But since then, there has been no responses to my subsequent emails. I’d like to elevate this to Ebay, but I’m not sure how best to contact them regarding this. Any thoughts out there?

·10 months agoYou have 30 days from the time you receive the item to figure all that out. After that, you're on your own. If the part is defective, try taking it up with the manufacturer, or take it to another mechanic. Dealerships are notorious for claiming bad or defective parts if not OEM, not being OEM is their definition of defective

·10 months agoYou're past the point of any help from ebay - after 30 days you have nothing to elevate to. As others note, your best bet now is your payment provider. Ebay offers no amendments on the MBG, it's 30 days all or nothing.

There is no way you could prove that the item was defective and that someone didnt do something at the dealership.

Sorry, the MBG is only good for 30 days from the time you received it.
There's nothing Ebay will do now.
Contact your payment source and see if they can do anything.
