SELLERS WHO LIE ABOUT LOCATION

Sellers who lie about their location have always been a problem on eBay. It's against eBay rules, but eBay doesn't seem to do anything if a seller is reported. Now, because of tariffs, it's even MORE important to know that your alleged US seller is really in the US and not in Dubai, Delhi or Shanghai, or you'll get slapped with an import fee. EBay's response to this however is, "Don't worry! You can refuse delivery!" Thanks eBay for once again telling us that we can buy things because it's FUN to return them.

·6 months agoEbay will do nothing I had an item drop ship from China despite saying United States location, didn't see it for weeks past the estimated delivery date and ebay gave not a care

·6 months agoThis has been a very common complaint that has been addressed many times so this is nothing new here. Correct Ebay will do nothing but you have the right to report. If they do something eventually they will not tell you. You should check feedback and profile to find out location. You will find that the location on profile and in listing do not match. If that's the case then that's a red flag and you should consider not buying.

This is the 3rd topic on this subject that you have posted in the last two weeks. You may have to go to pages 2 or 3 of this board to read replies from the first and second ones. You can also look in the upper right corner of a Community page click on the avatar circle select My profile, and when that page opens look under the banner on the left for Posts and click on the titles to open them and read what was posted.
The link below is about China based seller's but some of the info in it applies to sellers from other countries such as India, Pakistan, Israel ... etc.
Some may be shipping from U.S. based warehouses, others may not. If you open the link below and click on Go To Best Answer you can learn how to avoid buying from foreign based sellers who give a U.S. location.

Over the years you have been advised many times, not to trust China, India, Pakistan based sellers, but you seem to ignore the advice. Granted there may not be many U.S. based sellers of what you collect, but by now you should know how to check feedback profiles to see how reliable a seller is.
Do a google search for:
"How can I avoid paying tariffs if an ebay seller misrepresents an item's location".
Then read the AI article on how to document the issue and what to do to get a full refund from the seller or ebay.

·6 months agoIf a seller has been selling long enough, it is usually fairly obvious if the seller is drop shipping from somewhere else.

The seller might be in Dubai, Delhi or Shanghai, but tell the truth about the item location where it really is in the US.
