Sellers locations
I recently made a purchase from a seller supposedly located in California. I try to order from there due to the proximity. I am in Az. Once the item shipped, I get a notice that it is being held up due to weather conditions. Turns out it's coming from New Jersey. I wouldn't order parts from New Jersey. Especially if it's a needed part. There was no mention of "shipped from multiple warehouses". These sellers should have to be specific as to where the item is coming from, and the type of shipping they use. This is coming UPS sure post, so that's going to add another day or two to the ship time. Let us decide what we want and we can act accordingly as to which seller we use.

·2 years agoIf you search seller feedback it will show member since (date) in China.
About 90% of new items on eBay are now from Chinese sellers "based in" USA and drop shipped or shipped from California and New Jersey.
It's absolutely ridiculous. The Chinese are taking over America and no one seems to care. eBay certainly doesn't care because they are a greedy corporation now and that's how they make most of their Billions.

If the seller you bought from is the 2nd to last one you received feedback from. The item location they give is not done correctly. They give an item location of "California, United States" A correct item location gives a city and state.

Many of the China based sellers ship from various locations in the U.S.. If one warehouse is out of a part, it may ship from another. In this case some areas of California had severe weather, and a few days later, the same storm hit the east coast, so you ran into double jeopardy.
Rather than worrying about item locations, you should worry about a Seller's country of registry. The odds of getting the correct, properly fitting, or made w/ high quality materials, parts from China based sellers is about the same as drawing one card to fill an inside straight in poker. It can happen, but I wouldn't bet on it.

OP2 years agoI made 2 orders the same day, the 12th. Both from California. I received 1 yesterday. This other 1 won't be here until next Wednesday if there is no more weather issues. If it were coming from Cali, there is a good chance it would have been here a bit sooner. Point is, the dishonesty. How do you know what you're getting is correct if the seller can't even state where they are?

·2 years agoYou can voice your dissatisfaction in the negative feedback you leave the seller.
You can report the seller for item location misrepresentation also as it is against polciy..

They have different warehouses they dropship from in different states, so you never know where it's going to ship from.

OP2 years agoOnly the state. I'm not usually in a rush, but this is car parts and I really needed it. That's the only reason I'm checking on this. I guess I start looking at the about section and only deal with USA sellers.

·2 years agoIt USED to be that you could check the seller's contact info to make sure they were where they claimed to be.
That was one of many features fleabay did away with in order to hide how much shady stuff goes on.
They also hid bidder/buyer usernames so you couldn't detect shill bidding.

·2 years agoThey've been anonymized with asterisks for years. The reason that was done was for privacy concerns and to prevent auction interference. I, for one, was really glad to stop receiving messages either cursing me out for winning an auction or asking if I wanted to sell what I just won.
