Seller won't honor warranty, no method to contact eBay customer service
I purchased three phones from a seller in late December 2023. The seller's ad stated "Free Warranty for one year". One of the phones has developed an issue which I believe should be covered under the warranty.
Â
I've contacted the seller 3 times over the past month without response. I've attempted to use eBay's customer service chat to contact an agent for guidance, but I'm unable to break through the chatbot prompts.Â
Â
Is there an actual contact method I could use to contact a live eBay representative for guidance?

A warranty on ebay from a seller has no value.

Were the phones advertised as having a store warranty? If they were then after the 30 day Money Back Guarantee protections lapse, ebay will not be able to help you. If you received the phones without the seller's Written warranty being supplied, you could have returned them as being not as described, at the seller's cost.
Â
If a seller advertises a Mfr. warranty, you need to ask if they are an Authorized Dealer of the Mfr.'s products. You should also be aware that superseded items, even if still new in the box, are often no longer covered by a Mfr. warranty. Often those items are bought from overstock or superseded stock auctions, and the Mfr. warranty is no longer in effect, if not bought by an Authorized dealer.
Â
If a listing is for a Mfr. refurbished item, a limited warranty should come with the item. If there isn't one, it is not as described. If you buy a seller refurbished item, and do not receive a written warranty with it, then that item too is Not As Described.

·2 years agoIf the phone was new when purchased, I would contact the manufacturer to verify the warranty and have the phone fixed/serviced through them.
Â
If purchased used, and warranted by the seller, then this would have to be resolved by the seller.
Â
Did you buy any additional warranty with the phone?

·2 years agoSorry, but there's nothing Ebay will do.
The MBG is good for 30 days, after that, they won't do anything.

·2 years ago"under the warranty"...of who?....seller and buyer.
eBay itself doesn't do warranties.
And eBay can't do anything...so you need to work it out with the seller.
eBay can't do anything if seller doesn't want to do anything.

·2 years agoI hope you can resolve this. Buying cell phones on Ebay from random sellers can be risky.
