Seller wants my info for eBay services. Scam?
I have a user on Facebook Marketplace who is insisting on "going through eBay services for both of our protection." She has no sale listing and is asking for my name, address, and phone so she can "bill me for the transaction." She claims eBay Services will reach out to me to "make arrangements."
Since she doesn't have a listing for the sale in the first place, this sounds scammy to me. Is this a common practice, and if not, is there somewhere I should report her?

·2 years agoScam, ebay doesn't work that way and the ones reaching out to you would not be ebay, just scammers.

·2 years agoFairly common scam. Assume this is a motor vehicle of some kind.
How/why did this person contact you exactly, since you state she does not have a listing -- or did you mean there is a listing on Facebook, but not on eBay?

·2 years agoIt's a common scam. Go back to the Facebook page and use the link at the top of the page to report the listing to Facebook.
