I bought an item in late February. It is worth $300. Two weeks go by and the item has not yet shipped. He made a tracking number but it didn't update even after he promised for three days in a row it was dropped off. Surprise, once I open an eBay case it magically arrives at his post office. I closed the eBay case since I saw tracking movement. I get the item in a week later, and find out it doesn't work. I talk to the seller, he tells me to return the item. He wouldn't give me a prepaid label, but he wrote the address in an eBay message. I spend my own funds to return it, but the item is not deliverable to the seller because he "accidentally" forgot to put the apartment # on the package. I tell the seller to go get the item from the post office, and he says they won't allow him to pick it up (which still sounds weird to me). He said he tried to send his cousin to pick it up. I talk back and forth with him for well over a week -- probably two weeks in fact, trying to get him to go get the item. I contact the Post Office at one point and they said they'll try to add the apartment # on if they can find the package, but obviously weeks go by and it just sits at the seller's post office. I contact Paypal and they eventually refund me in early April after reviewing the case. I would have opened another eBay case, but I didn't know you can only have one case per item. The eBay rep on the phone told me to go to the Paypal route, so that's why I did it. Seller is now mad, sent me a prepaid label to re-send the item back to him, and even said that the item was returned to me... but I never received it. He is also threatening legal action over an item worth less than $500. The original shipping I paid for does say however that it was "Returned to Seller", but I never received anything. I guess I can go to my local post office and see if it's sitting there? I believe I put signature confirmation on the shipping originally because I wanted proof the seller got the returned item. I've ignored the seller's messages since he was a pain the whole time, sometimes would not even respond to my messages, and even got eBay to remove my negative feedback. I think he wanted to just not refund me ever, and is now mad that he is out his money that Paypal refunded me and his item... so should I ignore him? I've already contacted eBay to tell them to make him stop bugging me. I wonder if the legal action threat is just bluff. I worry that the tracking saying it was delivered back to me will give him a case, but it's not at my house. I don't know how to prove that.
