Seller shipped after I filed Item Not Received & requested Refund!
I waited 11 days to file Item Not Received even rhough Seller did not reply to emails did not post Tracking. Suddenly Seller ships item & posts Trscking even though he knows I no longer want the item!
I waited 6 more days to Ask ebay to Step In, & now evay says they put it on hold to allow item to reach me by Apr 27! What????? That’s 4 weeks after I purchased & he didn’t ship until 2 weeks after I purchased.
He is in the wrobg so why are they making me wait instead of stepping in on my behalf?

"He did not see fit to answer my messages, post Tracking or otherwise indicate whether package had shipped ( it had not.)".
Did you check the seller's feedback profile page before buying from them? If not maybe you should. It is possible you bought from a new seller or one who has not sold anything for a while. In either case they may have run into the 21-30 hold ebay places on all new/returning sellers first few payments, and they didn't know about it and/or how to deal with it. New/Returning sellers may have a fair number of feedback and a 100% rating, but all or mostly for buying in the last 12 months. Another reason why no matter what a seller's percentage is, you should always check their profile.
They might not have responded to your messages about shipping because on their account the payment status shows Pending, so they do not think the payment has cleared, and your messages are an attempt to scam them some how. They might have finally done some research about the pending payment, and that is why they shipped on the 14th. Since there is now tracking ebay will make you wait until the 27th.
Another reason for no replies or shipping could have had something to do with the severe storms that swept the country in early April. There were tornadoes and flooding in many places, and the seller may have been one of the areas affected by them, and that's why there was no communications or shipping. You can search for weather news in the seller's location around the time you bought the item, to see if they might have been affected.
"At that point, ebay should have simply canceled the order & processed the refund, knowing I no longer wanted it bc it hadn’t even shipped!"
Since you did not file the Item Not Received (INR) dispute until April 11, the seller had 3 days to prove shipment and they did so within that time frame, so ebay would not have a reason to issue a refund.

OP1 year agoOk so basically seller was not following up bc he thought that with a 100% Rating I was surely a scammer, or (b) he lives where the weather was a problem but could not possibly send me a message saying so, particularly after I asked what was taking so long for him to ship, or after I warned him I was going to file Item Not Received bc clearly he had no plans to ship the item to me since he hadn’t marked it shipped or posted Tracking.
I see what you’re saying & I appreciate the info, I just don’t feel he has a legitimate excuse for his behavior.
I will definitely try to only buy from Sellers with over 1,000 ratings from now on, assuming I have that option.

·1 year agoUSPS seems to be taking longer lately and eBay seems to be allowing more time for items to be delivered. Look at this one. It was mailed on April 14th and eBay is allowing a estimated delivery of 10 days. Many, many times this area of delivery has takes three to four days.

OP1 year agoThe issue for delay is not USPS, if Seller had actually shipped within a reasonable period, say within a week to 10 days, or communicated why he was taking so long to ship, I would not have blamed Seller.
He did not. He did not see fit to answer my messages, post Tracking or otherwise indicate whether package had shipped ( it had not.)
Ebay estimated arrival by Apr 10, that allowed 10 days after payment to ship & arrive. If it had been on its way within a normal period, I would have waited for USPS to deliver.
Item was simply not shipped, Seller could not be bothered but thought it was ok to keep me waiting as long as he pleased.
That is what I object to. I filed Item not received on Apr 11, Seller did not ship until Apr 14!
He had been notified by ebay that Item was not received and I wanted a Refund.
At that point, ebay should have simply canceled the order & processed the refund, knowing I no longer wanted it bc it hadn’t even shipped!
I’m quite angry with Seller, but now I’m angry with eBay. Of course it will arrive by Apr 27, that’s not the point.
