Seller scamming me
Hi,
Recently I bought something on eBay and noticed suspicious activity from the seller. For example, they said I would get 2 tracking numbers which is already a red flag. In addition to this, the item that I bought says that it is delivered, only a few moments after being shipped. Obviously the seller is trying to scam me. It was a pretty expensive item too and so I would really like to get my money back.
I tried contacting an agent on eBay customer support but it didn't send me a copy of my email even though I clicked the box to receive a copy. So I am not sure if customer support has even received my messaged. Thus, I am confused and starting to worry a bit.
I would really appreciate some answers and for eBay to step in. Any information would be greatly appreciated

·1 year agoWhy did you think you could get a brand new 4090 RTX for 75% off retail?????
Did you buy just 1, or all 3?
That should always be the first RED FLAG. SUPER LOW PRICE.
I'm sorry you fell for it.

"Recently I bought something on eBay and noticed suspicious activity from the seller.. they said I would get 2 tracking numbers, in addition to this, the item that I bought says that it is delivered, only a few moments after being shipped.
What you have run into unfortunately has become a fairly common scam perpetrated mostly by china based sellers. The red flags you should have seen at first were the item's price which was less than half of what others are selling for. The second red flag is that the seller has (0) feedback and is based in China.
"they said I would get 2 tracking numbers...".
eBay sellers can only upload one tracking number to a sold listing, any other one they may send in a message will not be considered by ebay. The info from the one posted is what ebay would use to decide an item not received dispute. Unfortunately, if that one has a delivered scan, which when their automated system looks for the tracking, is all that it is programmed to look for, not the date the label was purchase or where the item was shipped or where it was delivered. It will deny the claim.
"I tried contacting an agent on eBay customer support".
Since you are located in South Africa and ebay does not have a site based in your country, their customer support will be less than useless. The ones you can reach by Chat onlywork for a contracted 3rd party chat line. Their responses are based on what is in the play book they receive which doesn't cover this situation.
Your best bet will be to contact ebay through its social media outlets. (links below) The reps that handle problems on those sites are ebay employees who are familiar with the Fake tracking number scams. They can review info you send them and even messages between you and a seller. They also have the power to issue refunds.
What you want to do when contacting them is to have the seller's username without the number in parenthesis, and ebay item number (12 digits no hyphens) you can find that number in your Order details. Use the private message feature on the site you choose to send the message. Tell them what has happened also mention the seller's message saying there would be 2 tracking numbers, and post the tracking number that was uploaded to your order details showing delivered moments after being posted. That should be all the info needed for them to issue you a full refund

·1 year agoI feel like I have heard this scam before but can't remember how it works. Others may know. I would have a ebay rep call you.
