Seller Scammed me with fake postal code and Ebay wont assist
I recently purchased an item off a seller for under 750$ which i find out why he sells the item for so cheap so no signature is required, then he sends a envelope with tracking with to correct postal code but to another house in the area, then EBAY sees the item was delivered to the correct postal code and then sides with the scammer and refuses to help the buyer. Even if the buyer receives proof from USPS showing it was delivered to another address. After contacting Ebay dozens of times they refuse to assist and say to get your banking institution involved. Ebay goes out of there way to hide/take down all negative reviews from the seller. Anything to get out of helping the buyer.

·8 months agoI got my money back @thecoinman007 with a MISSING PARTS OR PIECES return request, uploading that proof from USPS into the request page.
Even after you have already lost an item not received refund request
-- and even that item not received appeal because tracking shows delivered
eBay still allows you to go back to click RETURN THIS ITEM to start that return request.
Then if your seller doesn't refund, faced with the proof and issues a prepaid return label instead
-- mail the proof back using that label, to get your refund when it is delivered or refused by the seller.

eBay cannot access a shipping label's exact address due to federal postal privacy policies, and when an item nit received dispute is filed a computer is used to look for the Delivery zip code in the tracking, if it sees the correct one it denies the claim. However, in the message telling you the claim was refused there is an appeal button, you have 30 days from the day you received the message to appeal, but in order to win an appeal, you need to get hard copy info from the shipper. If the item was shipped by FedEx or UPS they will not do that, but often the USPS will. Though some will not write the note you need, but you can go to a different P.O. to see if they will write a note for you.
If you open the link below, and click on Go To Best Answer you can find out how to get the info. There are also links to ebay's social media platforms in the article, which is another ebay avenue you use to get a refund.

·9 months agoJust do a charge back. Bonus points if you can get something in writing from USPS confirming the fraud.

·9 months agoHi @thecoinman007
As long as you verified with the shipping company that your name/address were NOT associated with the tracking number you were given ... you can easily get reimbursed by your credit card company.
Call the number on the back of the card and ask to be connected with their Fraud Department. Tell the agent that you're the victim of the 'False tracking number scam' and that you would appreciate a chargeback. Follow whatever directions they give you..
eBay is currently unequipped to deal efficiently with this particular scam. Their Buyer Protection is otherwise quite good.

·9 months ago'say to get your banking institution involved....rather easy to do.
If you have the credit card where you have online banking...you can do it anytime and just dispute it.
And many sellers can have a lot of negative feedbacks and be Top Rated Seller...some sellers might have hundreds in a month...feedbacks only help in 'buyer beware' situations.
