Seller removed my feedback? eBay?!!! What the hell.
So sellers can just remove feedback? I want my feedback put back up. Buyers need to know about this crazy lady. You just gonna let feedback get removed? Who's got a brain at eBay and wants to answer my question?

·1 year agoYou don't seem to understand that neither the forums nor eBay is your personal property. You don't get to make the rules or tell someone to go away. Their playground, their rules. Your options are to learn the rules and abide by them or ...... hmmmm ...... what's the phrase I'm looking for ..... oh yeah, go away. BTW, your response to the seller's feedback makes you look far worse than they do.

·1 year agoCertain words or wordage eBay or the seller(can ask) can remove or change feedback.
There looks like there is a neutral feedback with no words that was posted of this seller by you I think.
I looked at item purchased and the strap is like ready to tear apart...something I wouldn't have purchased at all...I would return it for a refund...
'Money on hold'...that had to do with a seller who doesn't sell often which is why money was on hold...but item should have been mailed out on the shipping date...that's a bad seller...money on hold had nothing to do with delivery of item.
I wonder if you can have feedback removed by the seller...check with eBay.
You were correct in demanding it to be shipped in the estimated time frame which the seller didn't do.

OP1 year ago"I would return it for a refund..."
Forgot about this. Seller would not give me a refund because she claims she never received the money. She told me that I needed to call eBay if I wanted a refund. I would post the message, but it would get deleted again. Thanks for catering to the scammers eBay!!

@12345jamesstamps I posted neutral feedback because I gave the seller 5 stars on the item itself. The item when I received it was in the exact shape that she said it was."
"You would already know the whole story IF EBAY OR KHOROS OR WHOEVER WOULD STOP DELETING MY POSTS!!!! So I purchased on Feb 10. Seller said she shipped on Feb 10. On Feb 15, my tracking still said awating item. Seller sent me lie after lie in messages with excuses of where and why the package whatever. Clear 100% no question lies. As in..."

@12345jamesstamps
I've finally looked at the listing. Although the broken strap was pretty much covered in the description... it sure isn't a 'Canvas' bag, like listed in the Title and Item Specifications. So, at its face, I see INAD... but if the OP is happy with the purchase, I'll only address the feedback issue.
@melonthumper... @wastingtime101 is correct. Reach out by leaving a message on the facebook eBay page. Be factual and concise... you only want the feedback scrubbed. It's obvious why and they don't need the back story. 🙌

After reading your 'Reply #11', I'd be ready to open an Item Not Received claim. Heck with feedback... make yourself whole.
If you're (at least) one day past the Estimated Delivery Date on the order, open an INR claim. Good luck.
mtgraves7984
·1 year ago@melonthumper
Well, I read them... but I hadn't checked the feedback before I replied. Open the INR claim if it's time to. Furthermore, do as @wastingtime101 suggests. You don't want that improper response on your feedback page. Good luck and good golly...
wastingtime101
·1 year agoGotta disagree with you on that, Miss M. Opening a non-receipt claim will go nowhere as there are active tracking scans so all that will happen is the INR hangs open until delivery, then it will close in the seller's favor after delivery.
Edit: actually, I think the item was already delivered.

·1 year agoFirst off, eBay doesn't moderate the forums. A third party named Khoros does. So eBay didn't delete your post. Apparently you're no better at reading the Community rules than you are at reading feedback rules. You aren't allowed to 'name and shame' another member here, including posting messages with them. You might want to read up on the Community Guidelines:

·1 year agoYou really need to cool your jets and read up on the guidelines for posting on the boards. You are not allowed to name and shame on the boards..if that were the case, what would stop a disgruntled seller from trying to hurt the competition by naming them in here?
melonthumper
OP1 year agoI don't need to cool anything. Go away if you don't want to hear it. I care WAY more about outing scammer sellers than I do "the guidelines." Clearly, eBay cares more about protecting their sellers even if they are scamming buyers.

This is an open board, and as long as the guidlines are followed, members are free to respond here. You dont seem to understand the no naming and shaming guidelines that are enforced here. Without that guideline, anybody could come in here, and attack another seller, or buyer. Get it?
melonthumper
OP1 year agoOh I understand them fully. I don't agree with them and I'm not a lemming. If something is wrong, I'm going to state it. I'm not going to ignore it or let it slide. I get it fully. eBay & Khoros stand behind scammers. Fully understand and get it. Now...go away.

Newsflash: in the real world, no one cares about you or me or our "feelings."
If you want justice, you are looking in the wrong place.
And there are rules to follow here, to boot. As has been explained ad nauseum.
A hallmark of the grown-up world. Yeah, it's a tough place to be sometimes. 😂
Meantime, I reckon that any sympathy you hoped to generate here has evaporated.
I know, you don't care; not caring about the impact of one's statements on others is fashionable -- encouraged, even -- in the virtual world.
Many here were brought up before there was such a thing as computers.
Even though you're not a "lemming," I'd encourage you to listen carefully to them.
On second thought... don't bother.

OP1 year agoIt's 100% one of those situations where the seller lied multiple times. Said they shipped my package Feb 10. Did not actually bring it to USPS until Feb 19. It's 100% that situation. Thanks for playing tho!

·1 year agoYou need to report the feedback they left you and they'll get a policy violation.

No one at eBay will answer your question because no one at eBay is here. This is a member-to-member forum. But if sellers could remove negative feedback no seller would have any. Obviously that's not true. You said something in your comment that was against feedback policy. And only the comment was removed; the neutral is still there.
luckythewinner
·1 year agoSellers cannot remove feedback.
eBay sometimes removes feedback that violates eBay policy.
eBay also removes feedback when eBay's seller protection policies protect a seller from negative feedback in a few specific scenarios.
wastingtime101
·1 year agoSellers cannot remove feedback; only eBay can.
eBay will remove feedback if it violates one of eBay's feedback policies, or if the seller is covered by seller protections under specific scenarios.
Once it's removed it cannot be restored.
Edit to add: your feedback rating of neutral is still there, only the comment is removed. That says something you wrote violated one of eBay's feedback policies. Perhaps you mentioned a case or something like that.
If you contact eBay customer service they will remove the feedback the seller left for you because that also violates policy (leaving neg feedback comments for buyers).

Not necessarily. It also could mean the item purchased was something that eBay decided to hide. It happened to me on a purchase for an antihistamine. Both mine and seller's feedback comment were turned into two dashes, although there was nothing wrong with either comment.
wastingtime101
·1 year agoMedication and similar category FB are hidden for privacy reasons @house*of*paws .
Feedback for handbags is not hidden, nor is the listing title, item number or seller ID. The seller's FB was not hidden, either. Completely different situation.
The original poster's feedback comment was definitely removed for violating policy, not hidden for privacy.

OP1 year agoYep, 100% my feedback was removed by someone.

OP1 year agoHey thanks for this reply. I'll never sell on eBay again since they have gotten so out of control on their fees and taxes, so her negative feedback for me I don't mind. I'd rather have my reply to her out there than have that removed also. Appreciate this response to my question tho.
wastingtime101
·1 year agoThere are 2 possibilities. One is the seller is honest. The distro center in the region where the seller dropped off has issues. It's very possible the seller shipped and the distro center was delayed in scanning it in and getting it out - yes, by 9 days.
I've frequently shipped items USPS that didn't get scanned the entire journey until they reached the buyer's PO. It happens. The lack of a scan does not mean the seller was lying. USPS is seriously messed up right now.
Another possibility is the seller didn't ship right away due to the funds hold. Based on the tone of the messages I tend to lean more towards the seller shipped and USPS failed to scan.
The seller was correct about the funds hold for new sellers (and that seller is classified as a new seller due to their low volume). You were wrong about the funds hold. Your payment cleared to eBay, but eBay didn't release the funds to the seller.
(Edit to add: this reply may seem out of context now, but it was in response to the direct message exchange between buyer/seller.)
wastingtime101
·1 year agoSure, no problem. Just know that after 30 days you can't get it removed so if you think you might change your mind it's better to act now.
The feedback being on your page is more impactful to you as a buyer since sellers can see it when you use the make offer function or bid on auctions.

OP1 year agoSo @wastingtime101 ...how exactly can you contact eBay customer service. Do you have a direct link or a phone number? Every time I try, I end up at a dead end where the automated option hoops they send you thru do not match my issue and there is no actual way to speak with anyone. Is there a form or a chat or a phone number that ends in talking with an actual person and not a bot? Thanks for your help.
wastingtime101
·1 year agoYeah, if you want to get the FB removed the easiest option is to send a DM to one of eBay's social CS teams: ebay on facebook or askebay on X
Tell them a seller left negative feedback comment for you, the buyer, and ask if they'll remove it. Keep it that simple - do not get into any details about the transaction as it's irrelevant.

Ebay doesnt monitor the boards, Khoros does.

OP1 year agoWell Khoros is on the seller's payroll. Does Khoros also monitor eBay feedback? Nah. eBay & Khoros both on the sellers payroll.

This is getting a tad bizarre,Khoros doesnt monitor feedback, Ebay does. Khoros monitors the boards, and is swift to act if the posting guidelines are not followed.
