Seller refused cancellation...
Hello fellow eBayers',
I have never had issues on eBay until this month (I have an old account but no longer use it).
I purchased a purse and wallet set from a buyer and paid on October 12 with a delivery between Oct 17 through Oct 21, but never received a tracking number or the product.
So, I requested a cancellation and the seller denied it immediately, 14 days after I paid for the product and still not shipped.
I read some posts here and I opened a DID NOT RECEIVE ITEM and have been waiting for another response but nothing.
I was looking at the listing and the seller literally changed the delivery dates, but the email sent after purchase says quite differently.
I will await the 31st as requested by the automated message to request eBay step in, but this seller is unethical changing the delivery date AFTER I requested a cancellation and refund.
Thoughts?

The seller still never responded, and eBay issued a refund early this morning after I asked them to step in amd provided them information.

·10 months agoYou purchased from a BUYER? What?
If the SELLER hasn't shipped - just ask ebay to step in and they will give you a refund. I had this happen last week. Some sellers list their items then vanish off the face of the earth, who knows? *shrug*

Did you pay the shipping fee, or not?
If not, then you chose the free local pickup, and you have to make arrangements to pick it up from the seller.

Good catch. I wonder why I didn't think of that myself, since I've had buyers click on L.P. instead of the shipping option.

Yeah -- I found the listing to check, and it had customer-paid shipping option as well as local pickup, but the information in the screenshot made me wonder. Especially since the seller hasn't shipped, apparently.

The others have told you about opening a listing and seeing the estimated dates if you bought on that day.
"So, I requested a cancellation and the seller denied it immediately, 14 days after I paid for the product and still not shipped".
First off, it was not the seller who denied the cancellation request, it was ebay. You have a limited time to request cancellation. You cannot unilaterally cancel a transaction you can only send a request to cancel and the seller is not required to agree to it.
Had you checked your seller's feedback profile page before buying from them. You would have seen that the seller has only received 1 selling feedback in the past year and that was an automated one, for the same listing. All they had to do to receive it was to post a tracking number which would show shipped.
Chances are the reason for your seller not shipping the items was they did not know that a seller who hasn't sold anything in over a year has an ebay 21-30 day hold placed on their first few new sales. On their account your payment status shows Pending, so they do not think the funds have cleared yet, so they haven't shipped because of that.
You can wait until the 31st to ask ebay to step in, or if you would rather get the items, try messaging the seller again. Tell them if they have not shipped because of the Pending status of your payment to do a Google search for " Payments on hold, ebay ".
If they do that they will get the info they need to ship the items and get the funds released. Did the seller post a tracking number to the listing? If they did that is likely the reason why ebay said you had to wait until the 31st before you can ask them to step in, an why the cancellation request was immediately turned down.
The second screen shot you posted saying the "item is not protected by the Money Back Guarantee" which is Wrong.
If you open the listing again and look below the payment icons you will see the seller has a No Returns policy, to its right click on the underlined See details button. That will open a popup that at the bottom will show;
Returns

I think your confusion is because the listing will always show the estimated delivery dates as if you made the purchase today. The dates eBay goes by are the dates in your confirmation email. And the dates changing in the listing isn't something the seller controls.

·10 months agoBottom line here: There was an estimated delivery date in the listing when you made your purchase. That date was acceptable to you, or you would not have purchased it, right?
Go back to the item in your Purchase History and check out that date. If it's passed by at least one day, you have 30 days to open an item not received case per eBay's Money Back Guarantee for buyers.
Have you read the MBG?

Seller can't change the estimated delivery date.
You go by the date shown in your order history.
When you look at the listing, it shows the estimated delivery date as if you bought it today.
Since you've opened an INR, if you don't hear anything, return to the case on day 4 and ask Ebay to step in.

·10 months agoYes, I have had the same problem when making purchases.
Kind of like defeats the purchase of expecting something for a birthday or such and the buyer won't get it on that time frame because of eBay changing the 'delivery date'.

·10 months agoThe estimated delivery dates are not created by the seller. They are created by eBay, and are based on the seller’s handling time, distance from you, and shipping method.
Maybe because the seller never shipped, these dates kept changing to become later & later…. ?
Sorry you had a bad buying experience! There are lots of great sellers out here and I hope your next purchase is wonderful!

·10 months agoWhen a buyer checks the last estimated delivery date in the listing, what is showing is the EDD if the purchase was made that day. He has to return to the actual transaction in his Purchase History to see the EDD.
