Seller promised refund due to no stock, then proceeded to ship the item: No refund!

·2 weeks agoMore than likely the seller was dropshipping. All they do is transmit the order to their supplier. It's the supplier who may say "woops, out of stock", tell the seller that, then almost immediately get more stock and ship. Like @christworks I'm not really understanding why getting the item you purchased after all would cause you to leave eBay.

I don't understand why you are upset. Perhaps you can provide further details that will help me understand. Based on what limited information you've shared, it sounds like the seller may have thought they were out of stock, but kept looking and found one to send you.
The last thing a seller wants to do is cancel and order and refund due to an out of stock. Even if you tell the buyer you are out, until they cancel the order and refund you, eBay still expects the seller to send the buyer their order.
