Seller isn't responding and hasn't shipped the item
I bought an expensive item from a seller and the first day when I ask a question they responded right away. They said it takes 2 to 5 business days to be shipped. 8 business days have passed and the item hasn't been shipped and the seller isn't responding to me anymore after asking them a question 4 days ago and 2 days ago i ask for a cancelation. Ebay says I need to wait until June 7th to open a case but thats too long of a wait. Is there a way to cancel the item or am I supposed to do a charge back with my credit card or am I supposed to wait and hope this seller didn't scammed me?

·2 years agoWe need some of the experts here explaining what might happen. As far as a 30 day refund if buyer can actually do it. It is March and item is coming in June.

Since the LATEST estimated date of delivery is June 7th, that is less than 3 months from now, so you will have to wait until June 8th to file a Refund Request due to item not received.

OP2 years agoI bought it on March 12th. I don't mind if it takes a while for it to be delivered but the seller hasn't shipped it and hasn't provided a tracking number or reply back to me when I ask when it would be shipped or if they can cancel my item. The seller had 90% positive reviews and the items that I wanted was jumping in price so I bought it from them but now I'm regretting my choice. This hasn't happened to me before on Ebay and didn't realize it would be difficult to request a cancelation for an item that hasn't been shipped.

·2 years ago90 % positive reviews...and the negative or neutrals feedbacks?

OP2 years agoWhen I purchased it, I didn't look at the reviews much which was a foolish mistake on my part and just look at the 90% positive reviews. After the purchase and the seller not responding, I noticed that all their negative reviews are about the seller not shipping their expenses items or providing false tracking updates, that's why I was considering a chargeback because waiting until June 7th seems a bit too much to get a refund on a item that is hasn't been shipped.

·2 years agoBuyers cannot cancel their purchases/orders. They can only REQUEST that the seller cancel the transaction, but the seller is not obligated to agree to the request to cancel.
90% positive feedback rating is NOT good.

OP2 years agoI learned my lesson and won't do it again, now I just need to wait until June to get my refund if the seller doesn't deliver on my item or refuse to refund

What is the estimated date of delivery as shown in your Purchase History? Has that date passed already?
IF/WHEN the latest estimated date of delivery has already passed by at least 1 day, you have up to 30 days past estimated date of delivery to file a Refund Request:
Go to your My Ebay page >> Purchase history
If the seller does not respond after 3 days, you can ask Ebay to step in to help you.

OP2 years agoThank you for the quick reply, I checked my confirmation email and it's says estimated delivery is from March 23rd to June 7th. So from what I understand I need to wait until June 8th to request a refund?

Go to your Purchase History and check the EBAY latest estimated date of delivery. When THAT date has passed without receiving your item, you can file the Refund Request.

·2 years agoIf this were my purchase, I'd give it until March 30, a week after the first estimated delivery date or at the latest, 30 days from your date of purchase. I wouldn't advise waiting until June 8 because I'm afraid you'll lose your ability to get the refund.
Just out of curiosity, I'd be interested in what country the seller is located.
rocar_6365
OP2 years agoSeller is from Japan, which might explain the long estimate delivery date

·2 years agoI don't know if eBay will allow them to open a case on an item where the last estimated date hasn't arrived.
