Seller is not respoding of cancelation request, and shipped item anyway
I was not aware of the auto payment if you offered an amount to the seller. I sent the offer to multiple sellers (was not sure, if any of them would accept). Then one seller accepted and it charged my account. I immediately regretted sending an offer, and sent message to the seller to not ship and cancel (also, I didn't see it was not a new item, but new with defects). The seller didn't respond. I texted 6-7 times from Saturday afternoon to Sunday. No response. I thought the person would check and cancel it on Monday. Instead, the seller shipped my item on Monday! Before, typically, sellers are considerate. But this seller did not even bother about responding even once. Even, if the seller wanted some compensation for shipping labels, etc, I would be happy to do that. But no response. Also, item is seller not accept return option. Do I have any option to get my money back, instead of getting the item? It's an expensive item

·2 years agoSellers do not sit at their computers all day Saturday and Sunday expecting your email(s). Most sellers take off from working on the week-ends like employees in banks, post offices and so on.
We all make mistakes, this is not the fault of a seller.
I am pretty sure when you send an offer...it states"you are committed to buy it" if accepted. And this goes for all auctions as well in case you make another mistake.

Oh, my. Have the other offers timed out, or could you be on the line for other orders as well?
sam.shishir
OP2 years agoYes. For another one. But, I apologized to the seller, and told, them I would compensate them for the trouble. He/she understood.

When you make an offer, prior to that offer being submitted to the seller, you get a notice telling you that it's a binding offer and if the seller accepts it, you are obligated to buy it. By hitting "submit offer," you are agreeing to those terms of ebay's policy.
And once an offer is accepted and/or a sale is made, sellers are NOT obligated to cancel.
sam.shishir
OP2 years agoI understand. But the seller can at least respond to my messages, right? Even, I would have been fine to compensate something for the trouble due to my mistake.
sam.shishir
OP2 years agoUnfortunately, I didn't realize it at first. I thought it was for later payment. Yes. I accepted my mistake (hands down). But I understand that it's not an obligation, just a curtacy. Anyway.

" Before, typically, sellers are considerate"
Stop doing this! Once you submit a best offer, it is considered sold if the seller agrees. Stop texting them.
You are making sellers waste time and money with your indecisions.

OP2 years agoYes. EBay is not a game. Not even Sam's Club, Walmart, Target, or even smaller stores, an online store like Amazon, etc, where you can return anything you want for free. But at least, on eBay, the seller can say the buyer will pay for return shipping. If you don't give the flexibility, why someone will buy from eBay again?

·2 years agoYou're not buying anything from eBay. You're buying from individual sellers on the eBay marketplace. One seller being non-responsive does not mean all sellers will be.
If the item arrives as described you can always resell it.

OP2 years agoThanks. That's my plan. Coz it's New with defects item, and will not work for me (which I should check properly before offering). Thanks

·2 years agoSellers are not required to respond to messages or cancel orders.
If the item isn't as the seller described it, you're covered by the MBG.

·2 years agoYes of course @sam.shishir even with no returns, IF it arrives with defects that were not described
-- click the Return this item button
-- select the Does not match description or photos reason
-- and the seller will have to send you a prepaid return label to get your full refund.
