Seller is asking for my address via message on completion of purchase
Summary: greydu1985 expressed confusion over a seller needing their address via message despite it being available through normal order processes. kibble-net and soh.maryl reassured them that the seller should see the address upon payment, suggesting the seller might be inexperienced. mudshark61369 mentioned that the issue might relate to international shipping differences. greydu1985 decided to look for other sellers, feeling uneasy about having to educate the current seller on standard procedures.
Hello.
There were some items I was interested in purchasing but on reading the listing the seller stated the buyer would need to look out for a message from them. Rather than going ahead I messaged the seller to query what this was about and they explained they need my address because they do not own a printer.
I also don't own a printer and for the last year that has not been a problem through simple delivery (private seller). Am I misunderstanding something here?

·3 weeks agoSeller sees buyer's address when the buyer pays. Is this a new seller? You can either take the time to explain this to the seller, or you can move on and find another seller who has a better grip on how eBay works.

OP3 weeks agoHigh feedback private seller. Listings are well documented did think about educating them about why its not necessary. But personally if I'm having to coach at this stage probably best I just leave it and go elsewhere. I was more interested to know if I was being weird here.

While the last reply gave you good advice, you may not realize that you have posted your concern on ebay's U.S. based site ( ebay.com ) . The seller you were going to buy from may be U.S. based and not experienced with international shipping.
Just in case you may want to post your concern on ebay's U.K. based site where you are located. ( www.ebay.co.uk )

·3 weeks agoIt doesn't matter whether they have no printer, or ten printers. Your address will appear on the order page. It doesn't have to be included separately in a message.

OP3 weeks agoThank you I appreciate the response. I found their explanation to be odd have decided better to leave them to it and I will go elsewhere.
