Seller include a fake tracking number and argues the product was delivered
Summary: ramirgoba reported an issue with a fraudulent transaction where a seller provided a fake tracking number indicating delivery to Georgia instead of their actual address in California. pickapaper suggested filing a chargeback with the credit card company to remedy the situation. mudshark61369 recommended filing an 'Item Not Received' dispute on eBay, arguing that an appeal could be successful if it highlights the discrepancy in shipping address and tracking details. kidzschoolfund advised persistence with eBay, suggesting that incorrect delivery scans often get corrected and emphasizing that eBay usually grants refunds when the delivery zip code doesn't match the buyer's address.
To whom it may concern,
My message is related to the order number:07-14798-64048 / Item no:127930857274 Supplier provided a fake tracking number delivering the product somewhere in Georgia. "USPS: 9405508106244254731756 | Delivered, In/At Mailbox | CARTERSVILLE, GA 30121".. And it's impossible for me to receive something in Georgia since my shipping location is in California.
The IA in ebay does not allow me to speak with a real person and closed my claim stating that the product was delivered. But a real human would understand that it was shipped to a fake address. I need my money back. This is a fraud!!

·2 months agoIf you keep saying you need to speak with a real person, AI should eventually allow a call back. I would also say that USPS makes a lot of errors in scanning packages, so if this has just happened, it might be a wrong scan, and it may show up to you. If not, just keep trying eBay, if the delivery zip is not yours, then they will refund you. At least that is my experience as a seller. Wrong zip delivery, buyer will win. Have you filed a non-received? If you lose, then you can appeal it and give the reason as the delivery has wrong zip code, you should win that appeal

You bought an expensive item from a (0) feedback seller whose price was well below the trending price of $700 to 900 for refurbished computers like that one, which should have been a Red Flag. As an inexperienced ebay buyer member, you should avoid buying from inexperienced or new sellers, until you are more experienced yourself.
What you can do now because of the "Delivered in Georgia (zipcode) is to file an Item Not Received (INR) dispute, by using the More Actions button in your purchase history. You may see a Return item option there but You click on that to open the menu and select "I haven't received it" follow through to file the dispute.
Unfortunately, within a few days the dispute will be denied, because a computer looks at the tracking information for a delivered scan, but it does not try to match the state or zip code.
In the message you receive telling you that there will be an appeal button. Click on that and write: This item was not delivered to me. My order details shows my address and zip code in California, but the tracking number (9405508106244254731756) shows Delivered in CARTERSVILLE, GA 30121. So I never received this item. Within a few days the Appeal will be found in your favor and a full refund will be issued from the seller's account.
The information posted previously should only be done IF you lose the Appeal. Going to your payment source without first filing with ebay, could hurt your ability to file disputes in the future.
You should also familiarize yourself wit the terms and time frames of ebay's Money Back Guarantee (MBG) (Link below) There is also a link to the MBG on listing pages below the icons for payment under the Shop With Confidence header.

If you were referring to my comment about the OP going directly to his payment source, I did so because he said in his opening post that eBay had already closed his claim and I didn't know if he still had access to the appeal if the claim was closed.
