Seller has somehow sold the same item to multiple buyers, same picture, relatively unique item.
A seller I'm making a purchase from has a low number of all positive feedback (7). They also have a longer list of "left feedback for others" where they repeatedly sold very similar items to the one in the title.
This item in question is basically a card game booster box, so a big box. They have also sold a folder of an entire card set in the past.
Now, when I go to their profile, those two items (box and folder) are still up for sale on new listings. Yet, checking their feedback, they've apparently already sold that folder once, and the box set like twice.
Of course, it's not really weird for some folks to acquire a huge amount of boxes and sell them one by one with the same picture... but this is still strange to see, especially since they have such a small number of receiver-feedback-as-seller, and a huge number of given feedback (also as seller, to their buyers).
What is happening here? Is this a scam? Am I purchasing from a flipper? I doubt it's the latter since their items are fairly priced, if not lower than expected (the one I bought was a good deal.) Their prices also seem to vary a lot, and all received feedback is from last month. Given feedback does go up to 6 months back.
The item will arrive in around 30 days almost, around Jan 20. So I'm quite worried. I trust ebay will handle the money situation if this comes out as a scam, but time is also quite valuable nowadays.
Any more experienced ebay users that could pitch in? What do you think? Attached is a picture of this seller's feedback received.
Thank you and happy holidays.

·1 year agoOK... I am looking today at a mixer from Greatlakespawn. Seems like in the Ebay history they sold the SAME mixer four times in the last three months. How is this possible? Presonus StudioLive AR22 USB mixer... in history comes up four times from them... last time this last Monday. Not even enough time for a buyer to receive it and send it back. How is this possible? the unit has four different sale prices at auction end supposedly, and Ebay listed them as sold. I know it is the identical mixer, because the tenth fader slide is bent... and they list it all four past biddings as a bent slider channel fader. Now the unit is up for auction ending on Monday. Only thing I can figure out is Dealer is deciding he is not getting enough money and refusing to complete sale and send the mixer. What is your take on this?

·1 year agoPossibly the seller is signed up with a wholesaler with more than one of the same item. Nothing nefarious about it.
I think you are seeing a problem where there isn't any IMO.

·1 year agoThat sounds like they are using shill bidders instead of a higher starting bid or reserve price. I've seen this before and is very common though it's also illegal.
