Seller ghosting me on Ebay messages
Spent my hard earned money $200 for some tools I really needed, seller sends me a UPS tracking # that its enroute, I figure ok, that's great...........NOT, a few days later I get a UPS email that my package has been requested by the seller to be returned to the seller. Seller refuses to reply to my requests for an update as to where my item is. Ebay customer service no help as they're all about protecting the seller not the buyer ! My purchase was $15 cheaper than the same item on AMAZON, well, I've learned my lesson that Ebay is just mostly an outlet for Chinese sellers who have "ZERO" customer care in mind and don't give a "F" about anything once they've got your money. Done with Ebay forever, I'll pay a little more at Amazon but their customer service is the best ever........................"YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR", so very very true !!!!

"Ebay customer service no help as they're all about protecting the seller not the buyer" !
You do not know how unbelievably wrong you are about that! You have not sold anything in over a year, and were lucky that you did not have any issues with the items you sold. If you had you would have found out quickly how poorly protected ebay sellers are.
Depending on how you tried to get help from ebay, there is nothing they can do until the last estimated delivery date has passed. The system they use is limited on how much tracking information they can access since eBay itself does not sell or ship anything. Since they are not the shipper or recipient they can't to anything except check for a Delivered scan.
"I've learned my lesson that Ebay is just mostly an outlet for Chinese sellers who have "ZERO" customer care in mind..."
About the only difference between the 2 company's chinese sellers is, Amazon kicked off about 6,000 chinese sellers about a year ago and continues to do so. Still about 60% of their 3rd party sellers are located in China. The difference is that their stock is located in Amazon facilities, and because of that Amazon can access tracking info, and issue refunds much more quickly than ebay, who does not have fulfillment centers. Once they see that a returned item's tracking has been received by the shipping agency, they will issue a refund. eBay on the other hand, has to wait until the seller receives their item back, before taking money from their account.
"My purchase was $15 cheaper than the same item on AMAZON"
You really should have done a little more investigating before buying from the seller, and not shopped by price if that was your search criteria.
The first thing I noticed about the listing was the estimated delivery time frame, which if I I bought today was 31 to 42 days, which indicates a drop shipper, whose inventory is most likely in China.
The second thing that caught my eye was the item specifics. The title gives an AC Delco Manufacturer's Part Number (MPN) and the photos are of an AC Delco tool. Yet in the specifics where it says Brand: = Branded New. The MPN: = Does not apply. It also shows No Warranty, but AC Delco tools can be sold online by 2nd party sellers with a warranty, They do not require their sellers to be Authorized Dealers for their warranty to be used.
It should be noted as well that the same tool is sold under at least 2 other recognizable Brand names, and some unrecognizable brands. They are all made in China, but the branded tools have stricter manufacturing tolerances. All of that indicates you may not have received an AC Delco branded tool, ergo the lower price.
The last thing I saw when checking the seller's feedback was the other Neg they received, which indicates that the address that person had to send their item back to, was out of the country because of the very high cost.

·3 years agoDon't give up on eBay. Every time I contacted eBay customer service I was always very satisfied. If the item is returned to the seller then the seller should should give you a full refund. If he doesn't refund your money you should bring a case against him in eBay resolution center.

·3 years agoSo you are totally unaware of eBay's Money Back Guarantee for buyers?
It appears that this shipment was recalled by the seller for some unknown reason.
You obviously aren't going to receive it by the estimated delivery date.
Therefore, there will be no tracking showing delivery.
In that scenario, you can go to your Purchase History and open an item not received case.
Follow the prompts.
Just curious: In all the years you've been here as a buyer, is this the very first time you've had this problem?
You believe eBay is "all about protecting the seller"? In fact, the exact opposite is true. I won't expand on that statement unless requested.

·3 years agoI have to wonder sometimes how many people are using the same account. Grandpa's account? The time on eBay just does not always compute with the complaint.

·3 years agoHave no idea. Regardless of whose account is being used, my personal feeling is that, regardless of whether you have one transaction or a million transactions, regardless of whether or not you are a buyer or a seller, you owe it to yourself to be sure you are well acquainted with all aspects of eBay, especially the important ones like the MBG.

·3 years agoYou bought from a new seller that already had a previous problem with a buyer. Sellers need to be vetted here and on AMZ. You can run into the same on any platform if you don't check out the seller.
Looks like the seller was dropshipping.
You get what you pay for is correct. Here or there.

·3 years ago@90profx Torque Zone might have been the better seller on eBay since they have sold 450 of those units. $169 +tax, free ship. Probably same as you paid.
They have them for $201 +tax over there on AMZ. 3rd party seller, same as here.
Looking at this stuff with my tablet. If I am buying I use a desktop system. Much easier to garner all the information on product and seller.
Good luck.
As others have said, file the INR case one day after the latest delivery date provided by eBay.

OP3 years agoI have to say that I have never had an issue with AMAZON, returns are refunded the same day once dropped off at the UPS Store. I have had issues where I've contacted AMAZON C/Service via chat and was refunded instantly and told to keep the product. This doesn't happen on Ebay ! Problem with Ebay is your money is tied up for up to a week while the seller drags his feet on refunding. I've been an Ebay seller as well as buyer since 2002 and I've maintained a 100% feedback rating because I know how to do what's right.

·3 years agoAnd I had 3 issues in 2 weeks buying things from sellers and then
1.) not getting tracking numbers
2.) when contacting and get a tracking number, the item only shows that a 'label' was made
3.) after 2 weeks contact Amazon only to be told 'that is a 3rd party seller so contact them'
4.) after trying to contact that seller again, pop up says 'Amazon has removed this seller' so now I was not able to contact the seller as Amazon told me to (AZ only covers what THEY sell, which is less than 50% of the items listed
5.) Tried to buy a part for a Fridge and AZ did not have, only 3rd Party Sellers with delivery times 1 week + out. Who can have their fridge down for over a week??
So, AZ is no better.

·3 years agoAmazon only has more Chinese 3rd Party Sellers (with very little Amazon support; no 'easy' refunds and no communication to the seller should Amazon decide to kick them off the site- so watch out.
