Seller feedback
Has anyone here ever purchased an item from seller [Removed]? I recently order a local pick up item (item no. 406329496940). The seller has not responded to my messages (2) requesting pick up arrangement details.

"advise (which I received, and am appreciative for). However; I also received replies which were condencending, and accussitive of name shaming, which I found unhelpful, and unwelcoming".
Those people were merely pointing out that naming a seller or other member in order to "tarnish their reputation" is a violation of the community posting policy. They were being kind.
If you look in the column on the right and click on Community guidelines, you will see under the Content and actions not permitted header:
about another user’s listings or user IDs to tarnish their reputation (e.g. “naming & shaming”) or otherwise calling the community to action. NOTE: It is appropriate to respectfully comment on an item or listing shared by a seller looking for feedback about their listing or the item listed.
Which is the reason why there is a [Removed] notice where the seller's name was and an Edited in 2/15/26 by mod ch.... You probably received an ebay message pointing out the policy on that date.

OP5 months agoMy "immediate action" to this event was to reach out to the ebay community for advise (which I received, and am appreciative for). However; I also received replies which were condencending, and accussitive of name shaming, which I found unhelpful, and unwelcoming. Granted; it is difficult to interpret intent and emotion in threads like this, but that is how I interpretted them, and how other "newbies" reading this thread may.
What I'm saying is; "be kind".

OP5 months agoMy final update on this thread; My suspitions proved to be true. The seller (or his hijacked account) never replied to any of my messages. My initial request to ebay for a refund was denied by the seller, so I proceeded with ebay's refund process for items not received. The process took 7-10 days, but ebay ruled in my favor, and issued a total refund. Some here thought I was premature in my concerns. My reply to that is to ALWAYS follow your gut, and take action immediately. "He who hesitates is lost" (or a the least may lose his money). You all have a good day. No further replies are required.
Best Regards,

·5 months agoIt worked out in your favor, because the eBay Money Back Guarantee worked as it should.
That does not mean you were not premature in your concerns originally. You were given good advice, and when you eventually took the correct steps at the time they were available, the system worked as intended and you were refunded. Taking action immediately was not necessary and in fact you would not have been able to open that Item Not Received case at the time you posted this thread originally.

" My other concern is the original posting date (Nov 2025), and the likelyhood of the item having already been sold locally, or via another selling channel. If it's meant to be, it'll be. I will give the seller until mid-week to make contact, prior to cancelling the order".
Once you have paid for an item, you cannot unilaterally cancel the transaction, you can request cancellation from the seller, but they are not required to agree to do that. In this case because of the hold and the seller being new they may not know how to cancel the transaction, or think there's any money to refund yet.

OP6 months agoThank You All for taking time to reply to my question, especially to mudshark61369. You are correct in me being an inexperienced ebay buyer (as it relates to private sellers). My past ebay buying transactions have been mostly with sellers with ebay "stores", from which I have become accustomed to prompt replies, as to the status of my orders. The information on ebay's payment hold policy eases my concern of being scammed out of $1500. My other concern is the original posting date (Nov 2025), and the likelyhood of the item having already been sold locally, or via another selling channel. If it's meant to be, it'll be. I will give the seller until mid-week to make contact, prior to cancelling the order. As long as I don't lose any money, I'll be OK. No name shaming intended. Just a simple question from a cautious buyer who has been targeted in the past by unscrupulous sellers, on other social media selling sites. Thanks Again!

·6 months agoJust as a clarification, a buyer can only request a cancelation. It is up to the seller whether or not to cancel.
BUT, you have the eBay Money Back Guarantee. If you funded your payment with a credit card through PayPal, you have added consumer/buyer protection.
That's is one thing that sets eBay apart from social media selling sites.
I can't imagine spending hundreds of dollars without a full understanding if, or how, I would get that $$ back if the transaction went sideways.

·6 months agoTo start name shaming isn't allowed here. Chances are nobody here dealt with this individual before. This has happened to me with another seller. I would say give them a good week before start worrying. Also make sure you communicate with the seller by asking simple questions like "If I buy will you be available this weekend?" If they don't reply then do not buy. I am assuming you ordered this with no questions asked. Maybe this seller is on vacation. It's a holiday weekend.

·6 months agoNo, I've not purchased from that particular seller. Chances are, nobody on this board has, either.
You've placed your order over A WEEKEND. Additionally, Monday is a holiday (Presidents' Day). So the seller is not obligated to respond until Tuesday.
Now, if they are a seller that's worth their salt, they'll take two minutes to address your concern sometime between now and Tuesday. However, it's their prerogative to be able to close their business on a weekend and spend time with their loved ones if they so choose, so please be patient.
If you need one-day service, maybe go pay a premium and shop elsewhere? Ebay is a network of independent sellers who don't own big box stores (well, most of us at least).

Not only has it not even been 24 hours since your purchase but it's a holiday weekend as well as school vacation week (in some areas) so the seller's response time might be lengthened.

You just bought the item yesterday Valentine's Day so the seller may be away for the weekend. This was the seller's first ever sale and if you paid for it, on their account your payment status will show Processing or Pending because of the 21-30 day hold ebay places on all new seller's first several sales so they do not think it has cleared yet.
They might have tried messaging you with some contact info, but even when a local pickup buyer or seller tries to send contact info they will see the You cannot send contact info message, but it is just a warning and can be sent for local pickup listings by clicking the send button again.
You are not a very experienced ebay buyer so you may want to read the info in the link below.
https://www.ebay.com/help/buying/shipping-delivery/changing-delivery-address-method/local-pickup?id=4056
If you paid for the item already which is not required by ebay for local pickup items, because of the new seller payment hold you may have to message the seller, and tell them if they haven't responded because of the Processing, Pending payment status, to do a Google search for
" Payments on hold, ebay " If they do that they will find out about the hold but also add that because this is a local pickup situation the funds can be released very quickly because inspection takes place when the item is picked up. You may want to read the info in the link below, and suggest that the seller do a Google search for " Offering local pickup, ebay " in case they haven't read it.
https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/posting-items/setting-postage-options/local-pickup?id=4181
Make sure when you make arrangements with the seller to bring the QR and the six digit code with you, so the payment can be released.
