Seller deleted their account mid shipment
Hello so I bought an action figure off an eBay seller and a day later they shipped my item 3 days later the listing and the sellers account is gone. When I get the item and it’s an empty box or it’s nothing like the action figure I ordered will I get a refund even though the seller’s account is deleted?

FYI. the sellers account is gone because ebay closed their account. Sellers cannot just close their own accounts.

You would get a refund once the item's return tracking shows Delivered.
However, in this case because the seller is No longer a registered user, they will not be able to respond to the Return request.
To send the return request, go to your purchase history click on the More actions button under the item's title, from the list click on Return the item, from the menu of reasons that appear, select Not as described, and follow through to file the dispute which will appear on your My ebay page under Returns. The seller will have 3 days to respond, and since they cannot, on day four, Open the dispute and click on the Ask ebay to step in, button. You will get a refund without having to return the Item you received. If the item's tracking gets a Delivered scan but you do not receive anything come back to this board and tell us about it. Dealing with what is known as the Fake Tracking Scam is tricky, but we can help you with it.
You really should read the terms of ebay's Money Back Guarantee (MBG) in the link below. I suggest saving/bookmarking the link for possible future use. Since you also sell, you need to know how the MBG affects you as a seller.

and select the DOES NOT MATCH DESCRIPTION reason to start a return request.
After 3 business days, click Ask eBay to step in. If you get a prepaid return label, send back whatever you received to get your refund. eBay either still has the seller's money or they will pay you themselves.

·7 months agoWhen you receive the item, if it's not as described, you just open the "want to return" and use the reason "not as described". Your seller has 3 days to respond. If nothing happens, you return to the case and request that eBay step in. You will be refunded from the seller's funds.
This is the procedure just like you'd handle it if the seller were still active.
