Seller asked me to cancel
There was a seller that I bought a SteamDeck from but he couldn't fulfill it anymore so he asked me to cancel it, I saw nothing wrong with that but I told him in messages that he has to approve it otherwise it'll still be seen as an active order.
Would I be able to get my money back if he doesn't ship the item but also doesn't approve the cancellation request? I just want to be able to get a SteamDeck

·1 year agoYes because if the seller does not agree to cancel and does not ship you can file a non receipt claim after the estimated delivery date to get the refund.
but you should know what the seller is asking you to do is them violating policy to avoid an out of stock cancellation. You will not be violating policy but they are.
Now if this is a small hobby seller then I can see helping and giving them a break, but if this is some drop shipper that’s not managing their inventory - which is more likely the case - then you may not want to go along with their request.
Drop shippers out of stock are a big problem on this site and they erode buyer trust in the platform making things more difficult for the good sellers.

OP1 year agothanks for letting me know, he seems to be new to selling so I was just giving him a break, I am however reminding him via messages that he has to approve the cancellation request otherwise the order will still be seen as active.
It's not a big deal to me as long as I can get my money back so that I can just find another SteamDeck to spend it on.
