Search Listings

I find myself in need of a 1 Terabyte (1TB) SSD for my computer. I come to eBay and ask it to list any 1TB SSD for sale. All of a sudden I see results showing prices ranging from $10.00 to $99.00 for multiple size (64GB, 128GB, 256GB, 512GB 1TB) SSD's. I have to go into each SSD for sale and tell it that I want only 1TB. And even if I go to the filters on the left side of the screen, I still see those multiple listings. This also happens with other items that come in multiple sizes or types. If I ask for something specific, that is all that I want to see. Most of the time, I just skip those multiple listings and go more for the direct listings.

I would not buy one here.

You cannot be sure it is not a counterfeit.

You cannot be sure it has a manufacturer's warranty.

Be sure to pick a seller with a lot of experience and history selling similar items; there are a lot of counterfeit SSDs out there, and you want to avoid someone that might be drop-shipping from a dodgy source.

Another trick is to use a price range to limit your results to a small number, then sort by "Price plus shipping: Highest first", then jump to the end of the results and scroll up instead of down. Sorting by highest price forces eBay to ignore all the low-priced variations and to instead sort by the highest priced variation in your price range.

Would be nice if there was a way to filter out the multiple item listings. I feel that they abuse the system in order to achieve a high search rank.

This is even more apparent when trying to buy a replacement Macbook charger, as sellers will have one option for "cable only" giving them the lowest price spot when someone searches for the actual charger.

I see what you are talking about. You would need a weedeater to sort thru that to find what you want.
